Arillas Business Association in collaboration with Arillas Cultural Initiative, the Deputy Mayor for Cleansing and Magoulades Local Council are organising a meeting on Wednesday 10 April at 19:30 at the old school to which all businesspeople and residents are invited. There will be discussion on the following topics:

The results of our research on the tourism of Arillas were made public on Sunday 20 January. A lot of people came to the presentation and left after a couple of hours much wiser!
To take it from the start, a couple of years ago the Arillas business Association set up a questionnaire to measure how satisfied our visitors were, what they liked and disliked most and other such things. The first year we got 300 replies, the second year (2012) we got back 600 replies. Looking for someone to help us analyse the results of the survey we came across Dr Kostas Tsoumanis.

During winter time, the Arillas Cultural Organization in cooperation with other residents and the Business Organization, have made efforts to create a foot path between the two main roads of our Area, as well as a walking trail that starts at the Arillas main road between Arillas Dream Studios and Marvel Hotel along the Arillas Stream, up to the bridge after the bakery and then all the way to the olive-groves of the Agricultural area of our village.

The Arillas Trail Opening was a great Success again. Loads of people were there from the entire island and many tourist. The pictures say it all.

The beach is STILL THERE! The sandy beach in Arillas has a glorious size and shape this time of the year. The shallow water and cristal-clear water have given the oportunity to observe some realy nice fish-life near the pier and the small reefs.

On April 12th 2014 I visited the Corfiot village of Arillas as part of the 50th anniversary celebration for the University of Ioannina, which turned out to be an interesting visit.

Arillas is a small settlement between Agios Stefanos and Agios Georgios, approximately 40 km from Corfu town. What impressed me most was seeing the solidarity, collegiality, companionship, trust and the mutual willingness to support each other, that is noticeable between its residents. They live by the principle that every individual’s effort that serves the shared goal will return to them manifold. In the same way, an action that harms the community will ultimately harm the individual as well.
This motto serves the improvement of the inhabitants’ lives as well as the touristic development of the region, which makes their home and workplace a positive role model as a holiday destination.
