But my real understanding of this place comes from a lifetime spent in my father's taverna. Growing up in my father's local taverna, the wooden chairs and checkered tablecloths were my playground, my classroom, and eventually, my workplace. From my days as a teenager running plates of moussaka to my life here today, I have watched the world pass through our doors. From sweeping floors as a boy to sharing a coffee with guests today, I have spent a lifetime observing the unique parade of people who find their way to our corner of northwest Corfu.
