The "Arillas Tree" that was destroyed last winter by strong winds and the bad weather, has started to recover and is showing some signs of life within it's branches.
It will take a few years untill it takes the shape it previously had but it;s still there waiting for you.!!

Looking a lot better than when we last saw it 10 days ago. It seems to have grown a great deal of green shoots since we first looked at it at the end of May.

The love affair continues.

Its good to see it growing again. Its just a simple tree but it has been the focus of many photographs. It was also lovely to stand in its shade and just watch the sea and the beach.

Thanks for the photo's, Dimitris. For me, the fact that the tree was replanted is just another wonderful aspect of daily life in Arillas, and it shows how the local people really do "care" about their village.

Lovely! Thank you for posting boss :)
Life is good ;)

That is really good news - as Terry says, the tree has been the focal point in many many photographs taken over the years. I'm sure that virtually everybody that has been to Arillas has taken a photo that included that tree, I know I have taken many. As a subject it's as obligatory as photos of the spectacular Arillas Sunsets!
So here's an old pic that includes both :-)
Home is where the heart is - CORFU :-)

Lovely news and lovely views!  Keep them coming, Geoff, I'm not bored yet ha ha

Thank you for the update, Dimitris and the picture.

I have loved that tree as much as anyone. I am so glad it has survived with the TLC that Arillas folk dish out in bucketloads, even to the trees.

Last October.

Everybody must have a pic of the tree ,this is one I took a few years ago.

The above picture has been my background on the laptop  for months now....I love looking at it and remembering last year and then reminding me I will be back this year!

Thank you!

I think that we need to reprise our Marika's magical picture that she took of this tree by moonlight.  I actually bought it off in poster size  her but couldnt use because it was damaged in transit but it is BEAUTIFUL!

Corfu, Arillas - Patrick under the tree near the Horizon Hotel by pj's memories, on Flickr

Cannot match Marieka's superb moonlight shot of our tree, but as Terry has said, we all must have used the location for several photographs - this one was taken by Julia in September 2010.
Let's hope the tree recovers its former glory.
Best wishes
Pat

I feel like a "duff CD" in saying ....

Arillas today is a 26.. 26...26.. deg day at 8...8...8.. ppppppppmmmmmm.
Not bad during the day either.
A very good day and , as usual, many enjoying.
Found  Arilliac "Sham" by the way and a chat is organised for Avrio.
Kevin G buzzes around in his super duper blue hire vehicle & many pedestrians hide in the bushes. - Even Punto has the judders. (Could be spark plugs?)

Arillas Today is calm and peaceful. The weather is PERFECT. Not a cloud in the sky. It is not quite as hot as it has been in the UK, and mercifully last night, justphil slept like a baby without aircon.. More to come on babies.....

I will try to give you all a taste of our Arillas Today while we spend our precious time back in our favourite place on earth. The following seventeen Arillas Todays belong to us.
