It wasn't open when we were there...looks finished and surfaced but still closed off. I heard they are possibly waiting for papers to come through before being able to open. Not sure how it's going to work with no spaces marked out as yet....I can imagine a few cars blocked in!

Eggy

From the info I have, and it is not confirmed. there will be someone on duty to ensure parking is a painless as possible and no one gets blocked in.
This would be run as a proper business with taxes paid with the attendant on IKA (legal)
But .. just like many delays of various offices, obtaining a licence takes time.
(Maybe the end of September will be OK?)
This is only the info I have been given so it is all alledgedly

Meanwhile I type merrily away not fearing that 38deg on the balcong at 6pm.
Soggy sox. We won't discuss underwear for fears of frightening under 16's reading this.

After some Sidari shopping I spent a little time in MATTS BAR, people watching.
There's some funny 'ole shapes around. -

e3 for an Ouzo and a Mythos for e3.50.
That sounds very good but first you have to get there and second where is the pool and
sunbeds and third where is the dartboard and four where are those Arillas guys you know?

Sidari for me if I need Supermarket shopping and as I am there I will take advantage.
You Arilliacs stay where you are , although an occassional visit to San Steph is advised.
Maybe Ag.George but "rumours" say high prices, and not many visitors from the UK

Funny 'ole game - Live long and prosper.

I would love to tell you about Arillas on Sunday but so "chockerblocked" I gave up and went "inland" for a beer.

Today was a Sidari day as supermarket shopping beckoned. Just as hot but at least air con was free and the beer just as cold.

I still see 35.6 deg, outside temp, at 8pm but rumours say twill get cooler.
(Rumours also say I am an Olympic body builder!!!)

Tis what it is and , methinks, many toasted visitors will soon return to the UK.

Cheers

Kev

Kevin - I will get yer post translated as I have a headache!!

How can you squeeze so much in a small posting??
(I bet when you have a pint tis a pint and an 'arf?)

and.... 4 weeks , matey? Twill take you one week to open their locked gates
and.... I am sneaking to Sidari tomorrow for some shopping I forgot.
and.... I might sneak back to Arillas after!! - I am so busy DONCHERKNOW?

You would love Arillas today with a 32 deg temp but a super breeze.
You could not get a tan better if you were sitting in an Air Fryer.
(That said it is possible that many want to stick you in an Air Fryer!!)

tis a funny 'ole day and forgive me as I had a 6/1 second on the racing.
(But I backed it to win. I B A bad loser so gotta take it out on somebody!!)
-------------
With a serious head on... Arillas is looking very good and I never see a dull face.
(Unless they see me walking towards them)

Cheers

Squaw..k here. Loving hearing Arillas busy. Hope the bars and restaurants are coining it in. Less than 3 weeks now. Should be a wee bit cooler? Still hot tho. Wendy is very wise to come over here now. Been cool. It's now baking hot! Funny weather.
We just want to be playing darts with Eggy in Rainbow or drinking cocktails in Coconut or the million other things we love to do in Arillas. See you soon Kev Bev Truth and Neill and lots more I hope. Mo x

When we were there a few weeks ago we got blocked in the car park at the top of Afionas.  They had some peoples keys fortunately to move the cars that were blocking us in but it took some sorting. Pure greed to get as many cars in the car park as possible.  We only wanted to stay a couple of hours but had to pay for the whole day - 8 euros. B

I wonder what the charge will be in the Arillas car park & will there be restrictions to stop so many people along the front. It was choca this year making it difficult for delivery vans & coaches to get along, especially up past G2 & past Inas.
We paid €5 in the car park in Afionas. We were asked where we were eating & told to present the ticket. We got our €5 knocked off the bill. Fabulous

Now we are into August I think if the car park is not open, in the next week or so, it will not be worth opening at all.

Ag. George is also chaotic for parking with vehicles parked either side of the road making a central single lane. Not ideal for 2-way trafffic!

St. Steph is very lucky as beach parking eases the flow of traffic and Sidari car parks are never full.

All that said , I am sure you know where you would prefer.

Dina, the lady who has done the car park said that they are waiting for permits. I still think people will try their best to park on the front rather than pay, however reasonable it ends up being.

Hi Jo
Yesterday Arillas, I think , got their first real taste of Germans, Italians and Czech all using their own cars. ( 2 German Plates, 1 Italian , 1 Czech but it's a start )
Judging by the quality of these cars, including a top of the range Mercedes and a rather nice BMW,  I don't think they would quibble at e8 to e10 a day to keep their prize possessions scratch and damage free.
Now the likes of me and trusty Punto????

and, possibly extra sections along the front may become "delivery zones" etc

That must have been the lower car park then. Handy to know about that. Thanks.x

Arillas once again pops around that 33/34 deg temp but , to be fair , it's only 36 deg on our balcony at 6:30 ish. Could be worse!!

After a fight with a Sidari cashpoint, bloody machines just because I put in the wrong password! I expected to be surrounded by the Greek equivalent of S.W.A.T.

and.... at the recycle centre, in Arillas, never volunteer! Asked if I could help load "summit" on a trailer it turned out to be a corner bath unit with fittings!!
20 minutes later I was in Rainbow and had a very good time with Timbo.
Alcohol was had and Kayleigh was pecked on the cheek and mentally we were probably playing darts both ending up on double one then saying "soddit" and having another bevvie.
The best way to play darts in this weather.

So, I am glad I got home later than usual as the horses I had picked all lost.
(Technically I won!!)

Cheers all
