Like my dad Sandy, when he saw his first badger here in Somerset.  I have never forgotten his childlike glee. Nearly 80 in his case but the same thing. I wish he had seen and fished in Arillas....

We saw fireflies last May, Sandy - I do hope your dad sees more in a few weeks' time...
Looking forward to meeting you both!

The first time I saw fireflys was in Arillas around by the fish restautrant.  Our daughter had gone to her friends apartment and we went looking for her, it was fantastic.

My grandson was three at the time but no matter how old you are nature has a way of leaving an impression that will last for ever.

I saw my first fireflies as a child in Italy.
We used to go camping there each summer.
I'd forgotten all about them until I saw them again in Arillas one night
walking the long way home to Tropicana from the Nut.
It was amazing, especially as it gave me the very same feeling (emotion)
as the first time. I just stopped and took it in along with the smells:
happiness, gratefulness and total peace of mind are the only words to describe it.

Well, how did this happen?
Probably because to me it was a huge experience
and a reminder of being just a tiny little dot in the universe.

I have never seen my Arillas in May yet.

When we first moved here to Baltonsborough in Somerset we had never seen a glow worm. Bright green fluorescent creatures nesting by the side of the road on way to pub. At first we thought we were imagining it. Too many beers... but they were real. We often stood for ages just staring at them.

I will see the fireflies in Arillas before I go. I WILL.
