Thanks for keeping us in touch, Eggy.  Sounds like it was a bit rough overnight (just like it was here in Lincolnshire).
Hope the plunging £ (pound) is not causing you too much grief.  Personally am hoping it picks up before I get back to Arillas in September.
Best wishes
PJ

What a lovely view it is even though it isn't the best we have seen from your place. The vines look to have grown well and the shadey shelter dosent look as bare as it did when we saw it last. Hope the wind hasn't played havoc with your lady's garden. Love Viv

Eggy would rather have the rain in Corfu than the black ice and snow here.  Thought I would get a taxi to work this morning it would be safer WELL went down the drive to get in it and slipped ended up under the taxi with only my head and shoulders showing.  How stupid did I feel the taxi driver said I was there one minute and gone the next.  Had to spend 20 mins in the loo at work drying my trousers under the hand driver ha ha ha.  Mind I'm paying for it now I can hardly move, big bruise on leg, pain in back and both arms and shoulders.  Come on I need lots of sympathy everyone just laughed at me and said it could only happen to me :0(

((((((HUGS))))) It does sound funny though. Mind you I do know somebody else that could do that kind of thing. Viv

You got my sympathy mate! I did something similar six years ago and broke my left arm in two places. You need pain killers and a very large ouzo!
Yammas,
Martin.

Ah Jill. Martin is right - painkillers and a large ouzo would be my recipe too. Hope you are better soon.

The veiw can change from week to week but they are all still pretty damm good.

The recent weather has caused a lot of havoc around North Corfu but the Greeks take it all in their stride and nothing ever sees to become a problem.
(Kavaddades road closed-Hey-Only another 10 minutes to Arillas via San Stephanos)

My trip to "Arillas Today" was from Afionas down the road that you see just before the Mon Amour Appts. ( If you're walking from Arillas, that is )
I just had to stop and take these.

I'm sure many of you "veterans" out there have done this walk but this is the first time I've driven it. ( I gotta start slowly donchyerknow )
A lovely walk, I would imagine & being repaid by many veiws like this has to be worth it.

Into Arillas and it's very clear that the weather is still is in command.

You'll see that there is not much of the beach left at the moment. I look at it that nature is giving it a good and vigorous 'ole wash and brush up and doing her bit to have it in pristine condition for next year.

So, who was about? - The only person I found was this one.

Vassilis is never far away and Amourada, I think, all us locals should be indebited too for staying open during the winter months.

Wegg and I are feeling a twinge stressed/guilty at the moment as we took our little lady moggy, Megg, to the vets yesterday for the "OP" We don't want to see any more unwanted kittens in Corfu so thought it the best thing to do. We're a coupla of softies though and Megg is a little worse for wear today which doesn't make us feel any better about it.

Finally, and I just had to buy this in Dimitrias Supermarket at Acharavi.

It's a honey liquer & at 25% proof for only £4.40 a bottle may be worth a snort or 2.
But I only bought it for the name.
( I suppose I talk enough of it that I should really have a bottle of it in the cupboard! )

Stay well y'all

Eggy, brilliant reports, thank you. Looked on webcam yesterday and it looked really fierce.

Mick and Jill, which one of you went under the taxi?  Had me giggling away, I could just picture it.  I came out of an office building last week and went flying off the top step, off a wet leaf! and landed on my back on the step.  I felt more of a prat than hurt!  haha.

If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.

It was me Jill who ended up under the taxi.  Am I paying for it today can hardly move my arms, leg is black and blue and back is killing me but YES Viv I can see the funny side of it now and have cheered a few people up with my story.  Got a bottle of Baileys there that I am going to start on once Calum is asleep.  Got to admit I felt sorry for the taxi driver :0) I was his first customer of the day at 7.30am so hope the rest of his day was better

Ah Jill luvver. I knew it was you. Just like me you end up in the embarassing situation, and hurt. Might be a different reason though - you rushing to work. Me? a bit too inebriated. Too many beers... Ask PaulC and Di! (and all the others)

All our love and affection to Mick and Calum. Hope we meet again next year
