The pictures indeed tell a story! Thank you Eggy man and keep them coming :)
Life is good ;)

Looks like some serious clearing up needs to be done.  I reckon if we were all there now, we would all pitch in.  Didn`t there used to be a road there?????
Seriously tho, thanks to these photos from Eggy, it keeps us in touch with what life can be like `off` season.
     Best Wishes  Paul D

Hi Paul and Heather. I woud pitch in as well. At least I could serve the beer... Mythos riggs???

The beach was fantastic this year, and not by accident. Our Greek friends made sure of that. The south end was better than it ever was. Even my Jen could have been there. In spite of her wobbly legs. Mine are still being chased from the Coconut bar... ask PaulC and his lovely wife Di.

Arillas ticks all of our boxes as you know. Sadly we will miss you in 2009. We will be there in late July. Look after Heather luvver - that is the point, life is precious. Ask justjen about it

Hi Eggy!
When I first saw the pics of the devastation of the beach road the words 'I don't believe it'  came to mind. It seems that the tranquil haven we all know is another place during the winter. Thanks for the photos and your 'on the spot' report.
I'll bring a vaccuum cleaner and a brush! Just shows how much work the locals put in during the off season to get things back to normal for us.
Roll on May 2009!
Yammas,
Martin.

Phil,
The idea is to serve the Mythos not drink it. I think I would give you about three minutes before you had to slurp one. Do the legs still wobble ?

Hi, Phil.   Even tho we do not cross paths this time, I`m sure there will be future times so that we can meet.  I think we might bump into riggers, tho.
Best Wishes to all for the Festive Season and keep posting on this thread so that we all get our daily fix.

Never got to Arillas today y'all but after a blistery ole night we've enjoyed a very mild day indeed. - Currently 18 deg outside now at 6:50 pm.
Going to Arillas tomorrow to see if the beach has calmed down.
But......off to Night owl soon to see if I can hit a dartboard.

Cheers

Rain virtually non stop for the last three hours so Arillas was a "no go" today.
(We just hope that the track alongside the football pitch hasn't been washed away )

Currently heavy thunder and some very impressive lightning here at Kavaddades.
Temperature is hovering around 15 deg so not cold.
That's it today. Short n sweet.

But............ Have you all seen that Ad by Asda on TV?
With the song:-  " It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas "
It's beginning to drive me mad and I keep singing & whistling it. - Aaarrgh!
Anyway, yesterday ,while whistling away I drove past my neighbours "smallholding"
Couldn't resist these pics.

" IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS........... "

ps - Just stopped raining - See what we gotta put up with!

blondegirl

I am amazed that you are getting Asda adverts in Arillas Eggy...
those poor old turkeys look as they know whats in store for them... they look a bit on the thin side..perhaps they are starving themselves so no one will eat them!
If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.

Eggy

Sue
We have Sky here and, whatever channel you're on, Asda seems to pop up.

The turkey we had, last year from this guy, was a bit tough and very thin on the breast front. Quite expensive, even for free range
And I had to remove the head and claws-Good use for my long handled branch loppers
He bought us a "boiling fowl", is that the term? , last week. Loadsa meat and casseroled for 2 1/2 hours. Still a bit on the chewy side but I enjoyed it.

A note on the weather front. When I said it has stopped raining, it had, for 10 minutes.
Then came back with a vengeance.
Shut all shutters, have a few drinks a good meal, and turn up heating is tonights menu.
Cheers

Eggy, I'm the same with that advert and I drive myself mad. Perhaps I am trying to inspire myself - as yet have done nothing about Christmas but seem to have invited 7 people for lunch!!

riggers

It could be worse, you could have Des o Connor off the Tesco advert going round in your head.  :(  I can't think what it is off the top of my head.

riggers............

"It's beginning to look like Christmas. Everywhere I go..."
"Chestnuts roasting by the open fire..."

Arrgh HUMBUG. Let's cancel Christmas altogether. I'm with both of you Eggy and riggers. It was Kylie who recorded "Can't get you out of my head..." but she never knew how Asda and Tesco would conspire to make it come true.

Give me Terry's music thread ANY DAY.

A couple of electric cables came down overnight which closed the Kavaddaes to Arillas road this afternoon. The police were on the case though. Well they were in the local Kafenio having a "coffee" but they did look like coiled springs. Anyway, the thought of making a detour to Arillas, via San Stephanos, in the heavy winds and rain made it no " Arillas today"

So, just a pic from our balcony at 2 pm.

Stay indoors and take it easy time!
