Weather on best behaviour tonight so we went to our local "Mon Amour"

I've just had a large chunk of the best and leanest lamb I've had for a long time.
Timed it just right as, through the outside window, there it was cooking on the spit.
So lean and tender - wowie zowie <<< Do people say that anymore ??

Anyway Wegg had the lamb with pita and souvlaki plus we downed 2 bottles of Retsina.

A big bill, I'm afraid, e24. But then I did have chicken and a pork souvlaki as well !
Piggy Wiggy. - i think that the half a stone I lost in May/June will be back soon.

I put this post of "Mon Amour" on "Arillas Today" as it's one of the Tavernas a lot of you visit, at least once, when staying in Arillas.

(This time of year they have a log fire thrown in f.o.c.)---(Plus Olympiakos on TV)
Cheers

Eggy, hope you enjoyed the lamb and put on a bit of weight. We just had home made boiled prawns (frozen from Tescos, cooked by me, and no way like Tomas provides us when we're in Arillas.) Greek salad, sesame feta under the grill and bread with seriously garlic mayo. I ate the lot but I won't be the one putting on the pounds! Jen and all my other women friends hate me for it. I can cook, eat and drink and never get fat. jus like you????

Have just worked out that we'll be staying with Anna in early July. She has my Mythos and Jen's Amstel on ice already!!!  Feels great but hope we aren't upsetting anybody with the way it's worked out.

Great post as usual. Ever considered chaning your name to Eggy World Service? Beats BBC!

love phil and jen

Hi Eggy
Good set of pictures yesterday.  A picture saves a thousand words I think, and these tell the tale splendidly.
Was brought up in Cleethorpes and as a boy spent many a winter on the promenade waiting for the bus to school while a gale blew round my uncovered knees.  Your pictures remind me very well of those days.
Lincolnshire has got a run of fast moving showers coming in off the North Sea at the moment
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/
You can watch them on the met office radar.  Shall go out in the morning and check my rain guauge, just like you do, and expect to find a few millimetres in there.
Keep up the commentary Neil, its most illuminating.
Best wishes
PJ

A very pleasant 18 deg this morning, and no one inconvienced, with just 2 very short showers.

Spent about an hour in Arillas having a little "volta" (stroll) along the beach. Just a mild breeze to blow a few cobwebs away.

A little bit of light traffic with others enjoying the morning as well.

Bumped into Noufris who was telling us about the Donkey Sanctuary and funds needed to keep it solvent. I'm not sure if this is the same sanctuary that Viv posted about.

Noufris was quite taken by it and just wondered if organised trips there next year could be of interest to anyone and, of course, boost any donations to keep it going.
He may put a post on.
Cheers All

Something has upset you , I'm sure it has.

A walk along Arillas beach this morning would have been just the medicine you needed to set you up for the day.

Has your decision for these rocks been logically thought out?
Did you decide on one orifice only?
(They are very big rocks yer know !!)

Stay Well
