Spot the Bar?
I could put six on in one day with the last picture being of the ceiling, on account that I'm parallel to it on the floor !!!

Slipping into the Greek way of life, as yer do, means a twinge of work for me in the Winter. Patio outside, Stone tiling, concrete paths. A few little jobs for others etc.

Most of my Ouzo's and Retsina come in between woodcutting, drilling, banging a few pegs in the ground and sometime this week I have to take a look at other plots of land that Ionian has for sale. That will be the most interesting part for me.

You just don't know how hectic life here can be!!!!
( Eggys says at 7:15pm whilst sipping small whisky and feeleing stress free )

What time does it get dark there now Eggy?

Its 4.45 pm here now, getting dark, and I know have the horrible prospect of 4 to 5 months of a 25 mile journey home from work in the dark.

I think there is a very clear message from your posts Eggy, that you have no regrets about moving to Arillas and that Wendy and yourself are enjoying life to the full.  Its a brave thing to move away like that and its really great that its working out. Also we get our very own news correspondents in Arillas, and get both text and pictures to keep us well informed and entertained.

Have a nice Evening

I think wendy's pics are great. Keep up the good work please. It will be very interesting to see where you visit during the winter.

Great pics again neil. It's a fantastic idea doing all the different places. Maybe you should call the post EGGY OUT AND ABOUT......riggers....

Starts to darken about 7:30 ish. It's still warm enough to sit outside at 10pm here at the moment.

So.
I couldn't keep away and popped into Arilllas about 1:30 ish today. Temerature was around 24 deg and the beach looked good against a very choppy sea.
Two lads in the sea attempting to surf the waves but whether they mastered it ??
A couple actually sat, on the sand, enjoying the day.

I bumped into a new local called Dave, walking his dogs. This time of year in Arillas is an eye opener for him as well. - But he loves it. Dave and wife Lynn are renting an appt at the moment but, will, very shortly be moving into their own new build.
( Just waiting for the finishing touches I'm told )

They're off to Armourada tonight.

Not much more to tell except we did have a very short n sweet rainstorm about 3:30 which came to nothing. Winds coming up a bit. I mean the weather, not me, and the temp dropped to about 21 deg.

Oh - Nearly forgot.
Met Dimitris,Nickos and Noufris having a clear down at Brouklis. Apparently they were very busy Monday night with last minute diners. Last night the family all got together for their end of season unwind. - They look a very relaxed trio indeed.
That's it folks
Cheers

20 mm of overnight rain, finishing about 9 am here, has began, to stock up on the Corfu water supply.

It's 11:30 here now with a 19 deg temp and I was about to say how civilised it is to get the rain overnight without any big disruption to the day.
But........... It looks like the rain may be back - A few black clouds overhead
(It looks like they've come from the Arilllas direction)

I was just about to get out to the garden ,so now, maybe an ouzo and re-think plans.

Arillas may not see me today - I just might curl up with a DVD and a glass of summit.

And why not Eggy, sounds nice and cosy!!

Well Eggy,

It was a lovely sunny morning for the drive to work in Warwickshire, and at 8.00 am the temperature was 12° C.

I am now sitting in a stuffy office, looking at spreadsheets, drinking vending machine coffee and I am stuck here till 5.00pm at which time it will be time to drive back home in the dark. The Arillas Forum is my only relief.

I wish I could get a violin soundtrack to play along with this post.

Wanna Swap! What size are your wellies? ( that was wellies and it was plural)

TerryW just read what i think is your usual day get up go work finish at 5 then home in the dark....you seem to mirror what i am doing but i think i have a little bit of an edge on you here....get up walk work (3 miles) sit down look at computer...then and this is the big one i fill in the lottery form as it is a triple roll over and i WILL BE WINNING ABOUT 12 MILLION so if Eggy is reading this pour me an Ouzo i'll be there soon......by the way TerryW my sound track is money money money by Abba

Eggy

Terry
At least you spelt "Wellies" right so now practice the word "Wedding"
( see Smiifys "Weeding Post" - Hee Hee. )

Keefy
I miss the Thunderball. Used to be in a syndicate doing 18 asstd lines each week covering every number + Thunderball. We only had a 42% return on our cash though.

We've got 20 deg here at the moment and the rain kept away.

This bit is boring, I know, but I'm very impressed with our build here and the insulation used. The house is enjoying 22 deg without heating and monitoring the oil used with very occassional heating comes in at about £12 a week.
(This  Includes all hot water and the heating on, maybe for an hour each morning)

Anyway ................. Hopefully be in Arillas some time tomorrow for a bit of business so maybe an update then. (Wonder what time Dimitri will be up after Birthday partying? )
Cheers

Ahhhh Eggy, I now see why trowels, spades and forks were mentioned. I 've got my glasses on today so can see it. Trust you to notice, but it did give you the ammunition for a great reply.

Cheers

I'M JUST A COILED SPRING HERE TERRY.!!

17 deg and hearing a twinge of thunder. ( Wanna buy any land ?? )

Terry/Eggy/Keefy

I have to react to the "coiled spring" quip. I've only been back to college for 4 days (you can't stay in bed - you're the teacher!) and I'm already feeling stressed/fed up/arillasless.

The forum has become a daily cure. Like you were saying Terry, it's relief. And Keefy, if Jen and I win the lottery, we'll see you ALL there for the party!

We also get comfort from planning the next visit - flights / apartments seem so much more interesting when they are to Corfu / in Arillas.

All the best
Phil

Temperature reached 21 degrees in Southampton today...but I'd still rather be in Arillas!
