Revelling in it all, Phil and Jen just know how to do Arillas, any time any month they make it their own.  "Alone in Arillas" Phil me old mate you just know that you will never be alone in Arillas. :-)
Or San Stephanos for that matter, you little party crashers
Now don't get frightening those nice people at Amourada tonight
Wooooooooooo

Yes, we have had another gloriously laid back day. The tables at Armourada are creeking with empty Mythos and Amstel bottles. And for a change they were not all ours. Eggy balked and said OMG have you had that many?? No, we shared them with Sennan, Gary and Sharon, Lynn and ....

As you might have guessed, you can still have a holiday in Arillas on Octomber 31st. Yes we are well known but anybody can join in. The beach today has a good plot of sand at the South end. I walked across all the stones, but once I had seen it, my knee was tired and I gave up. Sorry Sandy and Michelle meluvvers, your work was in vain. I had so hoped to see what might have been left.

Arillas is everything to Jen and me, and so I spend all the time I get dreaming about it. But the point of Arillas Today for me was that I was here, and watched the jetty, the bench, Gravia all for real. The rest is just so much waffle.

And PS - Gravia still hasn't moved.....

Phil and Jen, glad you are having such a lovely laid back and chilled out time amongst friends - Love your photo and the different light that Autumn brings - still looks lovely and warm - we had a bit of snow  here last weekend and it is feeling like it could snow again - continue to enjoy your holiday and look forward to hearing about more of your adventures

Arillas Today is wet wet wet. The storm clouds gathered and then set off a huge display of thunder, lightning and rain. It is showing no sign of stopping for a good while yet, but Jen and I have no worries. It is too late for anything to spoil our 14th time where we belong. We have had it all, and more already.

Armourada made a big fuss of us last night. It was a very speial evening, and will post pics when we get time. Today Arillas wishes justjen a happy birthday, but I'm afraid the locals have beaten you to it. And her birthday present? Have one guess.... a week in Arillas!!!!!

Phil

Well what a contrast. Arillas this morning was under a deluge. Thunderstorm, heavy rain, near floods.... Phil went back to bed and caught up on missing sleep. I had promised Jen a silent hour with her book as a birthday present, and delivered it in the only way to shut me up, ie a sleep.

Just now it is warm and sunny again. Jen is on't balcony reading the rest of book No 2. Me? voddie frappe in hand posting Arillas Today.

We never managed to move from Marvel. Kostas knocked on the door to tell us that Bobby and George Bardis were here waiting for us. A truly appreciated visit, and we had a lovely hour chinwagging and planning next July.... More on that nearer the time. They won't see this, but Jen sends even more thanks for her card and pressie. OMG do they know us well - vodka. Already open darlings.... Will we finish it before we travel back? Just bl**dy watch.

Off to Armorada, er NO. Got Jen and trolley to top of the drive and Eggy arrives. Shortest trip into town ever - we were back supping Mythos in Marvel within a minute or so.

We are meeting them for a meal in Armourada later, when we hope they will help to clear up Jen's birthday cake. Quieter tonight, but just as enjoyable. Arillas Today is even more than we had dared to hope for on our (now discredited) "all alone and abandoned" tour. We had no plan today, but somehow seemed to go with flows.

Look at w eb c  am right now to see a peaceful Arillas, calm after the storm. It continues to look after PhilnJen, in a way only this place knows how. Happy? They haven't invented the words to explain how good we feel.

loving your posts Phil, they cheer up the cold wet weather here - keep them coming.

Thank you Dorothy. Sadly we can't stand all morning chewing the cud outside the Coconut. That is where we first met you - yes of course we remember. Our time here has been so tough. Trying to decide what to do next is still hard work in November, no different from July. But OMG is Arillas nicer, more laid back and welcoming now. She is petulant and moody, her hormones will play havoc with you, but boy will you be happy afterwards. No, not rude, just 51 shades of grey to steal someone else's title.

Arillas Today is mine and nobody can take that away from me. Well actually it is Jen's, but we sing from the same sheet.

Well this will be my last Arillas Today post for 2012. It has been a bitch, a queen, and everything in between. 'Tis why I love it so much. Sometimes the warts are more attractive to me. But maybe not the strip show at Haloween. (We were already safely tucked up in bed. It was Dimitris who asked me if we had seen it.)

The beach and seafront are restored to the point where I gasped as I turned the corner to see---- Nothing. I expected devastation, trees hurled aross the road and dead bodies but saw nothing. Today you would never have believed that anything happened yesterday, even though I saw Kostas in his underpants trying to prevent a flood in Marvel. No, I didn't take pictures. Not such a pretty sight for an old male like me.

Arillas Today is warm and sunny. More beautiful then any remember. I just sat staring at olive trees, a little field and house through the open doors of Marvel, totally gobsmacked and humbled by the sight. I bored Eggy and Kostas to death with it, not to mention Jen who hears this every day I am not here where I belong.

Arillas Today does dry (oh all right, Phil isn't dry.....) warm and unseasonably sunny. Bladdy tourists are the only problem....

Phil, signing off for 2012 season. I will be back.....

Thank you Phil, Thank you
I have enjoyed your week in Arillas, I have enjoyed the company you have had, and the hustle, bustle, peace and tranquillity of it all.

Arillas had served you well and you have been a part of it once again.
You return to blighty might give you heart ache, but your memories of Octember in Arillas will give you Joy

So pleased you and Jen have had the best time.
See you soon buddy, see you soon.

John, I have cried like a baby, danced like a grandad, and you are spot on with your observation. We have had a holiday. But OMG have we enjoyed it here. Bobby told us yesterday that we are on lockdown for 3 days each week next July. We will not exist. Little does he know how well we can all do that for ourselves though. I have read all the complaints on the forum. But we will be there for ALL of the many wonderful friends we have made here.

Arillas in Octomber, er sorry, Octember is what I blag on about all year. Just friggin gorgearse. Off for food and Mythos now.....

C'mon somebody. Encourage me a little bit. My dear friend John has, but I am ready to pack it in. Arillas Today is not about Arilliacs, it is about people like me and Jen. But looking at the lack of posts here I feel abandoned and all alone. Something that my Arillas has never done to me even if I asked her to. Arillas Today has nothing to do with PhilnJen and before long I will walk out of this forum and simply do Arillas as I always have.  Kalinichta folks.

Val n Bill

Safe journey back to Somerset tomorrow. You have given us a wonderful week in Arillas and we have lived every moment with you.

Hope your last night is as good as all the rest have been and special friends give you a good send off.

Love to you both,  Val n Bill x

The love affair continues.

justphil

The love, the welcome have blown us away. but we always knew it would. This forum has been a dear friend along with many who post on here.

Watching Arillas disappear under the storms made me reconsider. I am leaving tonight, and sending me personal messages will have no effect. I have outgrown it and it has outgrown me. I have spent the last 5 years and last five nights in Arillas considering it. Nearly 5000 posts but not about the forum, about the place which makes me so happy. I cannot persuade people on here to come and share it with us. All of you do. in any case So why should I try?

Goodbye from justphil, sat here in Arillas as happy as it gets. My time is done. I want to get locked down and disappear for weeks, just watching my Gravia. I will still be doing that until the day I die. Kalinichta.

Ang

Me and my husband can relate to the feeling of coming home it always seems the same to us, its only been 6 weeks since we were last there but seems like months, after going to arillas the first time in 1994 not a lot has changed in 18 years, thats why we love it so much, roll on 2013, can't come soon enough, from a 5 degrees in norfolk, safe journey home, don't think we've ever met.
