A very bizarre Arillas afternoon for me. - It felt like being released from prison to face the outside world, after a long absence. - A few good local pals around and I wonder if they felt a tad like me??  A cold breeze with 23deg was the welcome to the beach front so , I guess I may try it again, tomorrow, to see if that improves.
Cheers

Ron - Brouklis did us proud and Dimitris , as always , was the "MAN".
A great meal and 12 guests eating , when we left about 8:45 , so hoping late comers will make a good evening for all.
Full credit to Dimi and his family/team making a very bold effort to stay open and look after us !!!
Tried Sidari , this afternoon , and another very quiet place to be, - Even with some darts and Old Bill, as grumpy as ever, something, atmosphere wise, is lacking.
Back to Arillas tomorrow but find it sad to see so much on offer and so few to take advantage.
Be Well

We finish a quiet Arillas today , with 21 deg. The faces I recognise are also the faces that recognise me. -
Some faces that we don't recognise would be a great bonus.

We wish also Eggy but at the moment we UK residents feel like lepers in the eyes of the Greek government and I understand why but it hurts when you are one of those people who have stuck by the rules and kept in lock down . All tarred with the same brush unfortunately.  This will be 10th week working at home and self distancing but still unclean in the eyes of the Greek government.  I was not so.annoyed until I saw the list of countries accepted in Greece and not included Germany..No offence to the Germans but I thought they also had high rates of covid. Hmmm

Hi

Economics will now decide your holiday destination this year, not coronavirus.
Which is one reason why countries are saying ‘’you open up your borders to us, and we will reciprocate’’.
Countries cannot afford to be shut down any longer. We have to start earning again. We need to trade.

From the start this pandemic has been guided by the sciences. Hence the much paraphrased comment from governments has been ‘’ from the start we have abided by the advice from the scientists’’
If the experts got it wrong, governments could blame them. If governments went against the expert’s advice they would have been held to account for any negative consequences.

All governments need to have somebody to apportion blame to.

Now with worldwide recession or even a depression looming, the economic consequences of shutdowns are now becoming of paramount importance throughout the world.

So now we have our scientists saying relaxation of their lockdown advice is too premature, as they don’t want to be the scapegoats for any possible second spike of the virus.
Our government is now trying to appease all:

The scientists, so they will still have somebody to blame, hence some of these belated restrictions.
The voters, so they don’t fall down the ratings
The economy, so they will not blamed for the consequences

Geoff
