After finding Arillas on the Firstchoice website, and reading the reviews on trip advisor and then finding this site, i'm so looking forward to my first visit. I'm hoping to book into the Kaloudis Village Apartments for a week, early October.
It sounds like a wonderful place.
Can anyone let me know any details on the average price of meals and drinks, and can anyone recommend the best place for seafood.
many thanks Craig.  :)

You will have a great time!
We were at the start of sept.....average price for a mythos is 3 euro, main course between 7 & 9 euro, though some tavernas do set menus for 9 -10 euros..
Personally I am allergic to seafood, but i understand one of the best places is Vavillas....walk along the sea front, follow the bend in the road go past Bardi Sun, and it's a little further on on the left......only about a 10 min walk from Kaloudis.

Hi Craig. Feel sure you will love Arillas as much as the rest of us. As for seafood, you're spoit for choice. Amongst my favourites are

Efi's (almost next door to Kaloudis) Extra garlic prawns
Marina hotel (at the T junction) Salmon fillet
Thalassa (just past T junction) Sole in cream sauce
Mirage (further south from Thalassa) Saganaki prawns
Graziella (just on from Graziella) Garlic prawns (they also do the most wonderful taramasalata)

That's the sea front, but just back there is:
Brouklis (just past the junction with the hill) Bourdetto
But the king of seafood is Thomas at Vavillas (directions as hippoP told you) where you can eat whatever is freshly caught. My favourite there is sea bream.

These are only my top favourites. Much could be added to the list. The high quality food (at very good prices) is a hallmark of Arillas.

Hi Craig, my son, his wife and two daughters went to Kaloudis, in August, for the first time and they loved it. They said that Roula and Billy couldn't do enough for them, the rooms were spotless, and the grounds and gardens immaculate.

Here are a few photographs of Kaloudis that I took in June

You will have a great time and will probablt book again for 2012

Love the photos Terry. We are going to Kaloudis next year and cannot wait. It will be our first visit to Arillas.

Hi ness44. Kaloudis is right at the corner where the seafront road ends. You can go down the steps and walk half a mile to your right along the beach (beware there will be naturists after the rock outcrop.) Or the track that looks so inviting if you follow it to the right. Beware though, part way along it gets very narrow and dangerous. It always used to be a favoured route to San Stefanos. There are other ways to get there, and if you want I will post a map that our webmaster put up earlier this year. (You can find previous posts doing just that.) To your left is the whole village. Nowhere is far if you have working legs, just explore.

My advice is smile and say kalimera to everyone (or in our case kalispera - we rarely manage mornings in Arillas.) Even the new visitors are in friendly mode, and it costs nothing.

Kaloudis is just as special as so many parts of the village. It takes ten years to explore it all in two week holidays but most who post on here have spent many months in Arillas. Some even live there. Join us all in sharing your experiences as a first timer. Ours was ten years ago and we now visit twice a year.

Craig.
Kaloudis is situated at the north end of Arillas. You will enjoy it there,we have stayed there for the last three or four years no problems. As regards food and drink you can't go wrong. Start at the north end of Arillas and see how far you can get. The good thing is you will have to return a number of times to try the places mentioned by the other Arilliacs to try them all. Sounds good to me.
Enjoy.

Hi
Returned from our 4th stay at the Kaloudis Village on 19th September, and have already booked the first two weeks in September 2012 for another stay there.
Prices are reasonable and I recommend the Royal Ionian beer brewed in Arillas which is supplied from the Splish Splash bar at the Kaloudis Village as often as you need to cool down.  Cue pic of me enjoying a litre of the golden fluid:-

Note the polo shirt with the Corfu Beer badge just supplied by Billy (and on sale at his bar).
Regards
Pat
