Hi Jo, sorry I forgot to post our experience.
The Horizon was absolutely superb. The room, bathroom, balcony and view, it has sold us, the beds were the most comfortable we have had on a holiday, we will definately return next year.
Daniela and Marinos greeted us upon arrival and made us feel like old friends despite it being our first visit.
The bar staff were always ready for a chat and laugh, and the cleaner and the cook and chef were all very friendly and the breakfast was 1st class with so much choice.
We ate in the restaurant two evenings and the standard of the meals, from starter to desert was superb. Whilst not the cheapest meal we had, the quality was worth it.
The beds around the pool and the hotels own beach beds were clean and comfy.
The resort is everything that we are looking for. Now our daughter wants to go away with her boyfriend, we are having holidays that suit our needs rather than having to cater for her wishes.
The locals are so friendly and we have fallen in love with Arillas, so much so that we have booked a week on October 5th.
We had a taxi both ways in June so that was 110 Euros, and we hired a car for a day which was 50 Euros, so we have decided to hire a car at the airport for the week, and return it on the morning we fly home for 156 Euros. This way if the weather is iffy, we can explore for the day.
Two return flights, a week at the Alex studios and the car for the week £610. No brainer
Reading this message board, I see how everyone seems to return to Arillas every year, we can see why, Arillas has another couple totally hooked.
I will post some more of our thoughts about the bars and restaurants at a later date.
PS, if anybody knows if Daniela has had her baby yet, it was due in August, we would love to know.
