It's a no-brainer for us, MicK-G - we always have our first and last meal at Broukilis and always meet friends there! After that, we alternate between the various restaurants (including Brouklis!) but tend to have our favourites but always try others as well.
Can't wait - not long now!

Hi Georgia,
I fully second Janis' words from yesterday.
Getting older worries the most of us from time to time.
When I was very young I was so skinny everyone commented on it
and I was always struggeling to gain weight. Ha ha, now the weight
really doesn't matter that much: I don't look great anymore but I've
become a much more confident and relaxed person over the years!
It's not the fancy clothes that tell us who you are, it's your personality!!

Wishing you all the best and enjoy your holidays.

You know Mick, that is a real toughy, we go nine weeks today and lunch is no problem, it has to be Effy's (it always is) but the evening meal, where do you start?????  You have posed a real problem......

JohnTheRef&Dot

On the Question of food?... this year, don't know about the first meal but

WE WILL BE IN BROUKLIS WITH PHIL & JEN ON 12th JULY
make sure we have a table Dimitris......... promise to behave ourselves

Our first proper evening will be spent on the Saturday (30th July)at the Marina for their fantastico Greek night where I always take a deep sigh, a sip of my chilled wine and well up as the chords to Zorba start...

MicK-G

We can't decide yet. My personal favourite meal is the grandma's lamb at portofino, I also love most things on the menu at Horrizon so it will probably be one of those two. I also love Marina but will wait for the Saturday night to go there. The problem with only having a week is that I can only visit most places once.

I'm not going to Arillas this year as I will be in Moraitika.
But if I was, it would definately be Stifado at the Armourada
my favourite dish at my favourite Restaurant!

Breakfast at the Horizon with homemade jam, garlic prawns at....
etc. etc. there's a large selection and they are all sooooo good!!
Never had a bad meal in Arillas. Wishing everyone a lovely holiday.

Ann and our eldest daughter are travelling out to Arillas on Friday 15th July arriving at Corfu airport at 22:45.  Anyone fancy a taxi share?  Also coming back to Uk on Friday 22/july 2011 flight is departing Corfu airport at 23:25 so probably need to leave Arillas about 20:25 if anyone fancies sharing a taxi back to the airport then.

Janis and Sunflower...you are both absolutely right...had a bit of a hectic busy day prior to posting my message...with more gin and tonics than were advisable inbetween....so so looking 4wd to my holiday, Janis will be lovely to meet you knowing we are out there at the same time, my eyesight is poor so will be peering at everyone to see if they are fellow forun members...have made an idiot of myself before nothing new there...thinking I recognise people and they have never heard of the forum, conversely passed Phil and Jen in the street a couple of years ago and was unsure so did not say hello and then when I returned home realised they were there the same time...not safe to be allowed out by myself really..ho hum!!!xxx

Janis

Hey, Georgia - I am incredibly short sighted!!  When on holiday I tend to wear my contact lenses as much as possible - at home it's my glasses.  The trouble with my contact lenses is that I can't see to read, so I still have to have a pair of glasses with me to read all those lovely menus!

I, too, have asked people if they're forum members and been given funny looks! But I know I was on to a safe bet when we saw this guy wandering about wearing an "Arillas Addict" tee-shirt - it was the first time we had met Martin-W (what a lovely man he is) and he then introduced us to Pete who then introduced us to Viv, and Viv and I have been firm friends ever since!

Hi Everyone

We have just joined the Arillas Forum. Both my husband and i were in Arillas July 2009 and loved every minute of it. We stayed at Dionysis Appts. This year we are staying in the Mathraki studios. We fly out from Gatwick on 8th July for 2 weeks " CANT WAIT ". It would be great to meet up with some of you hard core Arillas fans out there. Our favourite place to eat was Helena's which had just opened. You had to walk past around the sea breeze and follow the road round. We obviously tried all the other local haunts , starting off at the Malibu Bar. Is Helena's still open? We also liked the creperie for the gyros pita and a pint, my mouth is watering at the thought. Would be lovely to hear from anyone.

Hi Annie and Rick and welcome to the forum. Mathraki is well liked by many on here - lovely pool and the family are special too. We arrive on 12th July - 1am ish - and stay till 29th at Bardis Sun Studios. We are meeting loads of forum folk - all "hard core" as you so wittily call us. You can't miss us - Jen has waist length brown hair and hobbles along on the arm of a grey-haired drunk.... Please say hello (or run away - whichever you feel is safest lol.)

Hi Phil

Great to hear from you. We will definately look out for you both. We have been reading a lot of reviews and its good to know everything sounds positive. Last time we were there we had plans to venture out and about and explore more of Corfu i.e Corfu Town but we ended up lazing around the pool eating and drinking, although the last couple of days we did hire a bike and ventired out. Arillas is just so relaxing.

Hello everyone on the forum, this will be our 3rd time in the beautiful Arillas, the first time was Dionyyos, last year was the Tria Adelphia, and this year it will be the Mathraki Studios, we cannot wait and I am counting down the days.We discovered Arillas 3 years ago and have been coming every year since, We are totally addicted to the place, for us who both work it is total chillout. We are flying out from Birmingham on the 11th July for a  week. I know a lot of the forum members have stayed at the Mathraki and would like any info from anyone of them please.I am always reading the posts on the forum and enjoy what everyone has to say, there is not a day that I am not reading all the posts and info. Long may this continue.
