Sorry, I've not been online everyone. I've not been at home very much. We've been out celebrating Easter with friends & locals for the past few days.

We went up to Afionas church on Saturday night. It was so beautiful inside the church. When the priest came out we joined the whole village in the procession & walked down the road carrying our lit candles. It was amazing. At midnight, there were lots of Happy Easter/Christ has risen greetings & kissing & then the firework display started.
Some locals then went back to church, but we walked back to the Night Owl. When we got back home, with my candle still burning I made the sign of the cross with the burning flame above our door to bring us luck.
Sunday at midday we went to friends & had the most wonderful day. We sat out & had a BBQ & chatted & drank & ate for over 10 hours - can you believe that?
Today we went to another friends house for more of the same & our one & only Negg was there. [What a great day Negg?]
The hospitality shown to us since we have arrived has been incredible.

Here are a few photos taken over the past few days.

The procession at Afionas on Saturday night/Sunday morning.

After midnight the fireworks were let off - such loud bangers. My ears were ringing afterwards!

'Moi', Linda from the Night Owl & Claire. Holding our candles which we had to keep alight until we got back home.

Here's trouble.........Gary, Paul & Bob!

The dyed eggs at our friend's house today.

& this is what was cooked for us.

Lovely photo's Sara which, I think, will have made us all want to be in Arillas for Easter one day.

Maybe the holiday season needs to start a few weeks earlier.
