Well Boys n Girls

Coconut  buzzing tonite. Many local shop/hotel/tavernas owners all unwinding and looking forward to a peaceful winter.
Good to see Phillipe ( Tria ) and family the other side of the bar for a change. And Marinos ( Horizon ) Far too many people to name.

Kostas and Hannah very busy with the ole chefs hat on and Peri looking after everyone at the bar. Didn't stay for food as we had our last meal of the season at Brouklis.

Now we look forward to the Hotel Akti as an extra Winter place to eat. Plus a couple of new places which I'll tell you about soon.

I bid you farewell from a very very quiet Arillas.
Cheers

Thanks for the report Eggy. We have been musing all evening in our local about the last supper in the Nut. And wishing we could have been there. Oh well, it's real now. To quote riggers "That's all folks!"

Jen and me are eternally grateful to all of our Greek friends who are about to embark on a well earned break, for all their affection, hospitality and welcomes in 2008. We will be back, probably for a while at Easter. Till then we will be relying on you to keep us in touch. A big thank you to you and Wegg.

Phil

We are hoping to be there for Greek Easter too Phil. All depends on flights from Manchester. Any help appreciated. :)

Have looked at easyjet (sadly from gatwick) for the latest March dates you can currently book, and it seems quite reasonable. (Thanks Sandy for your post elsewhere pointing me at it....) And the Akti will be open and takes independent bookings, so it looks quite feasible for us. Could always bring the tent, in any case....

Will find out what I can and send you a PM. Give us a day or two to look around.

Sorry looking for 15/16th- 22/23rd April . :)

I've been reading the "That's all folks" posting and, just to make life a little sadder than it was..........................

I popped into Arillas this afternoon and found Dimitris n Spiros busy jet cleaning the Rainbow pool surround and all the sunbeds stored away safely for next year.

Brouklis having a final clear up. The outside patio, we could all shed a tear for, as not a table in veiw.

You could hear a pin drop at the Malibu. That new seating area, built last year, still looking good and bought back memories of George, building it.

Doors finally closed on the "Nut"

Marina staying open until Sunday as they still have guests. Dedication or what?

The beach, taking it easy, or maybe "all dressed up but no one to welcome"

With our temp guage reading 24 deg today and with just a couple of showers it has been a very good day indeed.
( 22deg outside now at 6pm )

Tomorrow Wegg and I will pay the Thallassa one last visit before they close.

A few things, planned for the Forum, over the Winter but, bear in mind it will be on "Greek Time" - Wegg and I are unwinding, after our Villa chores, as well

Cheers All

I returned to the chilly UK at 7am this morning. (I am getting too old for night flights, I feel dreadful ;( ).  It was sad to watch Arillas being 'put away' for the winter, indeed, I had no idea that so much work was involved in cleaning, oiling, washing etc. all the sunbeds and things we take for granted when we arrive in the summer.

Although it was my third visit this year, I have never before been so late in the season. We stayed at Marina Hotel and my daughter and I were the only guests there.(The remaining couple are in the apartments) The resort had a strange feeling as establishment after establishment closed and we visitors became fewer and fewer.

I have to say that I much prefer it when it is 'buzzing' if I can apply that word to Arillas. Having said that, the weather was kind to us, we were able to sunbathe most days and, as the sun lost its heat in the afternoons, I was able to drag my daughter on all the walks I had been longing to do. We had a day in Corfu Town where

So, all in all, we had a great week. Already I'm looking for a bargain flight for early summer - will there ever be such things again?    Roll on 2009.
