This is fascinating - I do hope you enjoy your hols Lindypops !!

Back to the mozzies.....has anybody tried Avon's Skin so Soft dry oil spray?   We use it here in Scotland and it keeps the midges at bay.  Doesn't smell too bad, sort of unisex, it's not intended as a midge spray.....here comes a long story.......about 8 years ago a Scottish doctor and his wife moved out to Barbados, the wife discovered when she used the dry oil spray after her shower she didn't get bitten.....word spread back home to Scotland and before you knew it, everybody was buying the stuff......up here we even sell it to the tourists who have tried Jungle Formula (which doesn't deter the humble midge).....even the army use it when on exercise up here!

Looks like I better take a bottle along  :D

     Thanks bobandjoice, I certainly will. Arillas is lovely. I will try the Avon stuff next time. If it`s good enough for the trossachs, it will be fine in Arillas. Bfn.

I use Mosquito Milk, i swear by it. I used it throughout Malia last year and also in South Africa did not get biten once. Used to be able to buy it from Boots but have stopped seeling it. Have to buy it off the internet know from a health shop. Its in a glass bottle and it looks like milk. I really do swear by it and recommend it to anyne.

Just wondering are the mozzies alot more of a problem number wise in the summer moths then May and October, we have never been anywhere with mozzies before during the months in between because I get bitten so badly but are thinking about maybe visiting in July if it's not much worse. Viv

me and my friends went to Rhodes in June and we all got bitten really badly all up our legs. We had to get antibiotics when we got home. we used autan spray and it still didn't stop them.
It may be different in corfu though.
i am taking my mosquito milk with me to arillas then i may not get bitten. Fingers crossed. :)

 I got bitten to death this July which was areal shock as I have been to Crete twice and Rhodes and never get bitten at all, although the people that I went with did.  Do the Corfiot mossies have different tastes I wonder?
