I'm in trouble if there's any sunbed issues there this year, I booked my parents into Dionyssos II from August 4th til the 18th, they're Arillas virgins and they're only going because I recommended it. We've got an extra four days at Anna studios from August 4th til the 8th to surprise them so maybe they can come to Anna's with us if there are problems.

Anyone been to Dionnysos lately that can update?  I am starting to worry about the bed situation as i am such a pool person, i like the beach but definately prefer the pool!

I absolutely hate having to fight for sunbeds - seems so unnecessary!
Would be really grateful if anyone who has been recently can report on the bed situation.

Thanks!

Certainly no problem a couple of weeks ago but it will get busier ins school holiday times....

This is going to sound bad and may offend and im sorry if it does

but germans are tight people! theyve got deep pockets and little arms!
they came round kaloudis (splish splash) used the pool alday and toilet facilities with out spending a penny!! not even buyin a drink. its damm right offensive to the owners.

this may not be the case, but what ive herd and seen it seems to be.

and as for towels on sun loungers ..... chuck the towels in the pool !

sod em!

rant over, ash x

We stayed at the Rainbow last September and it was a nightmare around the pool beds were always being saved and for most of the day there was nobody on them. I am a pool person ,like to explore but like to spend most days reading a book lying by the pool. We are back at the Rainbow in four weeks so hope it has improved!!

Happy to report that this year there was no problem around the pool. People seemed a lot more laid back this year & didn't start arriving at the pool until 10ish & we managed to get a bed whether we went to the pool in the morning or late afternoon.

Hope that reassures folks.

Hi Ash - or is it young Victor Meldrew?

Don't forget that the forum is viewed, and English read, by many nationalities and that many Germans live around Arillas.  If your post is read by some, all they will see could be the edited version above. You will be here for a long spell next year so everyone you meet will be a potential lead to a permanent job.
There's a very good mixture of good tradesmen here who always need help occassionally.

Me ? - You have to go a long way to offend , and towels on beds? -
Don't throw em in the pool if there's a chance the owner may offer you a good job!
( But if you're going home after 2 weeks................? )

You did ask for advice on moving to Corfu so take all the above as "food for thought".

And.... if you want a couple of jokes on how to tell the nationality of the towels on beds then send me a PM. - They do include English towels as well though!

Whoops! - Hope I haven't offended anyone.

Cheers me boy - Stay well.

I agree Eggy... Theres a saying "dont bite the hand that feeds you"....

The english can be just as possessive about their sunbeds too!
If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.

one of the things I love about arillas is the different nationalities that arrive. I'm concstantly embarrassed by some Brits with there beer for breakfast and union flag swimming shorts and beach towels.

sue

haha ian has england swim shorts but he dosent have beer for breakfast. unless we are at manchester airport when going to corfu lol.

In the airport is allowed, it is the start of your holiday.  :D

I wouldn't dream of wearing Union Jack shorts or loudly upsetting others' atmosphere. Jen and me are the quiet ones sat in the corner doing a crossword.

But my Greek breakfast of two pints of Mythos is not negotiable! I might have a feta omelette or saganaki with it but often don't. Know what you mean though Mick - I love to meet people from other countries and try to communicate a bit. En francais habituellment...
