The cabinets straight - It's the floor that not level.

I've just be asked, by our heating engineer, if I'll make him a floor to ceiling book case according to his plan. ( Should be interesting! )

Crazy paving started this afternoon. - Finished by end of week I hope.

Arillas has to be on the cards for a look tomorrow. - All work and no play etc....

Oh, riggers you have let me down, I wanted you to agree. I was using my vernier reality check.

The photos are not lost - they just need re-hosing and new links pasted to the relative topic.

Me-thinks more than one pickled onion will have to be reserved for 2008!!
( With a little sprinkling of chilli powder for that added zest )

Just gone 2 pm here folks and the sun's out !! - Wegg recorded 5mm of overnight rain and it has been drizzle most of the morning. - No concreting today.

Enticed into the local "Lavendis Bar", at 10 am this morning by Miltos.
( Eileen and Keith know who I'm talking about )
A very nice Ouzo with meze. The only foreigner there with 7 Greeks. I still struggle a little with the language but did understand when they made fun of the owner for bringing out the meze. "Oh yeah - new customer! - Make him welcome" etc etc.
After I went to a very wet Sidari then down through Avliotes through Agios Stefanos and, beleive it not, came upon Arillas. - Fancy that-Who would've though it?
A very dramatic sea but a real pleasure to the ears. Close eyes and listen time !!
The only other body I saw was Georgos, Ina's Supermarket, just sorting a few things in the shop. Then home for a well earned drink and settle down until now.

A little rumour I've heard. - Marina Hotel is thinking about building a 3rd floor. This extra floor could be large appartments with lounge etc and, if true, would compliment the swimming pool they possibly have planned. There is certainly a lot of building materials spread around their car park plus extra materials on the roof.
When I know then you'll know. - Unless someone out there knows already.

Malibu also seem to have plans for next year. The left side to the original bar looks like a building site at the moment.
Cheers

Eggy it looks like you have found a new winter drinking partner... Miltos does like an early one...he really has to twist our arm...just like he had to entice you into Lavendis Bar ;-).  I'm just being nosey but which bar is the Lavendis?

Thanks for the newsy newsletter, interesting news re-the Marina and Malibu.

Wishing we were there,

One for you - Lavendis Bar in Kavvadades - He doesn't seem to open at lunchtimes.

And Arillas today???
Looking good - Met Dimitris and Litsa who are both well and obviously very excited.
And Dimitri's mother, Katerina, lovely lady, I just want to put her in the boot of the car and take her home. That's how to learn Greek in a week and get some fantastic cooking into the bargain. ( I always think of her as my 2nd mum - Look out Dimitris )

And............  The only customer at Brouklis today is......

But there were a few waiting for an inside table!!!!

Not a chance - They couldn't get one in the summer - No hope now.

Quite breezy on the Sea front, but not too breezy. I could have comfortably sat and read a book for an hour. - All in all a very good morning. It's now 14.48 and I don't know where the day has gone. Poor Kostas outside doing all the work - Gotta go.

Lovely photos Eggy.  It's nice to know the name of that bar,  I always thought that was the one you went into for you morning blether and drink with the locals.  Is it the little place further up and around the bend that you usually frequent?

I've always wondered about the bakery in the 'sort of diagonally opposite corner' (sorry it's the only way I can describe it) to Lavendis...can anyone go in to buy bread or is it a wholesale bakery?    I've always been a bit shy to go in and ask...and make yet another fool of myself!!

Thanks for the update on Dimitris and Litsa...we are all waiting with baited breath!

Hi Negg

Brilliant photos as usual.

Hi Eileen
The bakery is open to all !
We have now followed what the locals do. You just walk in , past the counter, then out the back to the bread. You take 2 rolls "joined" together which is a kilo or just split of one roll, miso kilo. Basically one loaf is 75 cents - And it's still warm !!
( Indegestion on a plate for me )

Wonderful post Negg, as usual. Kavaddades must be heaving compared to Baltonsborough, where we live. The biggest event of this week was that the tent that we smokers have to use nearly blew down in the strong winds. Would have taken the dear old girl who was in it smoking on her own, drinking whisky and smoking, with it. Sylvia nearly took off in the winds....)
Oh yes, and someone won the sausages in the Friday meat raffle... the big event of the week here.

Having said that, we spent most of our pub time this weekend with our swinger friends (whose activities can't be posted on this forum!) and one of the lovely couples they do their thing with. We don't join in I am glad to say...getting on a bit for all that!

Wish I was actually watching the susnset in Marika's alst picture on the forum.

love to all other Arillas addicts, and specially Dinitris and Litsa at this wonderful time in their lives
