So the battery finally died. Did they open the Coconut specially for you Eggy?

Eggy

Saw a movement behind the closed doors Sandy and "acted on instinct"

Reluctantly paid up e80 and said to Nickos at Kavvadades Garage:-
" Tora, yia mena, mono to psomi qe to nero yia mia evdomada "
which, I think means:-
" Now for me only bread and water for one week "

He thought I was joking !

Its a shame about the Pugs Battery Eggy, but look on the positive side and don't be negative about it, at least your lights will be brighter.

I told em Oldham.......remember that one?

Iv'e seen that campervan Eggy. In october, first it was on seafront for a couple of days, then it moved right up to the top of the donkey track. Obviously didn't drive up there, but went round. Seemed to be there a few day's.......riggers....

Oldham Batteries Terry.I Remember that one very well. Makes me feel older than i am.....riggers...

Lindypops

All sounds very nice, Eggy. Think you deserve an ouzo to help your nerves after the battery worries.
Lindypops.

Positives and Negatives, Brighter Lights.
Terry W - You are such a live wire - Don't yer know.

" I told 'em Oldham ?? " - You can get arrested for that.

Ouzo to calm nerves Lindy P? - More than one I fear.

Keep smiling. Name of the game.

Won't get to Arillas today as part of our steep bank collapsed over the drive yesterday. Man with JCB came this morning at cleared excess soil/clay away. These little upsets never seem a distaster here. Greeks take it all with a smile and treat it as a way of life. Our neighbour let us dump about 4 tons of it on some of his land.

So, muddy part of drive, big dent in Bank could mean big dent in Bank Account!
It's our neighbours land but, it's not his fault. Equally he's not worried that his land is getting smaller and our drive is getting wider.
No need to buy it just remove some of it now and again.

You could try "ELDORADO"
Eggys Long Drink. Ouzo Required. All Disaster Orientated.

The plan was to get to Arillas today via Agros, a visit to a builders merchant, the one on the way to Corfu Town before Troumpetta, then Acharavi, and then Sidari to buy some cigs and a bit of shopping in the supermarket.
( Ja get all dat?? ) - So much to do in, what became half a day, due to a visit from the heating engineer, to fit thermostats, & the site agent to sort out some snagging.

Anyway, at about 2:30 ish. the rain came down with such ferocity that Arillas was cancelled. I was in Sidari at the time of the downpour and .......
Heavy rain here means HEAVY rain.
The water has nowehere to go except the roads and it finds all the dips and holes that you can usually see when driving in the summer.

A bit scary driving in it and loadsa concentration is reqd. A very big test for the memory here!. You have to remember where all the big holes are plus allow for any recent big holes that have appeared in the recent bad weather. Not like England at all where you can drive through 20ft of water and put your trust in a smooth flat road underneath it. And some of the vehicles coming towards you slow down for "Diddley"

I was mentally exhausted by the time I got home and had to have an Ouzo or 3.
Arillas tomorrow though. -

We keep telling ourselves: - IF IT WAS EASY WE WOULD ALL BE LIVING HERE !!!!!

Stay well everyone.
( It's 7:18 pm here and we're just watching Scotland and Italy play football. )
2 hours ahead here - Takes some getting used to when planning any TV.

Cheers
