25 deg at 5pm and no where to swing a halibut, If yer into halibut swinging!!

Grazella is open and many, many, people enjoying the surroundings.
If there was a place where you had to book, and on the 1st May, twould be this place.
I am a "Mayonaised" at how busy twas. They must have something right.

and.... if Mirage is not open then those bodies on the beds must be a "Mirage"

I see the staff at INA's running around like "Blue Arsed Flies"
(If that's still a term we use?)

I see, or do not see a parking spot available.
WOTSITALLABOUT??? - Tis only the 1st May. BUGGEROFF everyone.
Wait until June, you've caught me on the hop here

Based on the above I would expect to see a queue at Brouklis tomorrow!!!!!

I am home now to gather my thoughts and plan my action against newbies in hire cars!

Cheers

Hi Eggy, interesting you comment on the lack of parking. What happened to the car park that was being landscaped last year by the Portofino?

Rumour says that twas found on a website and seems to be "Silly Money"

Neil you could buy the land just to park your punto 😂😂

Any news on sunbeds this year. It was very difficult to get a sunbed last year.

Let's hope something good comes from the sale as it is a prime site.
Do you know if the Portofino will be reopening this year?

I'm a regular visitor to the forum and although I rarely contribute, I do enjoy reading everyone's posts.  I'm due back in Arillas end September for my 15th visit (not a lot of visits compared to you lot - lol).  I did however find a cheap flight from Brum a couple of days back and thought "life's too short". So, I will be heading over to Arillas on 18 May for 5 glorious days of me time (my daughter is working and so will be stuck in good old Coventry). I will be at my usual go to the Mirage, lolling on a sunbed enjoying that gorgeous view.  Cannot wait.  Eggy's temperature updates are making me feel giddy and excited in a good way so hope that the nice weather will be upon me for that week.

Eggy

PMC69.... Too excited reading temperature updates?

In that case I will not mention the very warm 27deg about 4pm in Arillas.

Truth

Have a great time PMC69 😎🍻 . Mirage is a lovely place to people watch .....
Wolverhampton Wanderers, pride of The Midlands......

I am a "mayonased" just how busy Arillas is without any parking and many people here for a 27deg temp and tis ony the 4th May!!

Marina Pool bar is open and Coconut on the move to catch up with early bird George at Malibu.

The Chemist is having a big revamp incorperating next door to increase their floor space.

Brouklis, I see  closes on Sunday at the mo. Tria Adelphia is open

Beach Kostas is now closed for 2 weeks having their "Summer" clean up.

and.... for PMC69...Mirage is looking very good indeed.

S'all I can think of.

'Mirage looking good' it's what I want to hear, be there in 6 weeks. Sorry Negg I will have a hire car 😂🚗

Eggy

Well , Billy D , I hope you will take it easy.

This is why I and many locals get so annoyed at "newbie" drivers who just stop dead at a T-Junction and don't even think what is behind them.

Obviously "my Fault" as I was "too close" but fortunatly my speed was such that little damage was caused. THe front fascia will need to be refitted as it dropped a tad.
No damage to the hire car except a refit of the rear panel but insurance had to be called which delayed both drivers for 90 minutes plus

This was Thursday and Friday afternoon I sat at our little Kafenio an watched 2 cars stop dead at a bend. "Do I go straight or turn right???"
The cars behind were not happy

But... Arillas today is a good one, despite the lady opening her passenger door as I approached.
(Nearly took the door off but she did not notice as she was brushing crumbs off her trousers)

Anyway... 20 deg dry and getting very busy.
Cheers

Arillas today? Around 26deg and pleased all who arrived plus those who already had the sunbeds!

I was happy to get home without incident but did chuckle at 2 drivers who refused to give way and held up traffic.
......and they were both Greek who saw me laughing at them! - Whoops!!!

Aaahhhh , tis all fun.

The beach is looking very busy, more parasols every day. The exciting bit about having a hire car is not just the really crap roads, it's more the taxi drivers trying to beat there best time to and from the airport! Then there are the scooters and bikes who think they have a force shield around them, and it's always your fault as you blast them with your horn (I enjoy that bit, it relieves any stress levels) I am still trying to decipher some of the Greek drivers hand gestures😂🚕🏍🛵

Eggy

Billy D
Some tips for you.

One purp of the horn is just an acknoledgement or a polite reminder they are there.
Two or three purps is a tad on the angry side.
(Unless you see someone you know than they the are "excited purps")

Head up plus a smile is just like saying thankyou.

and...... if someone is on yer tail stop yer car get out, open yer boot and say......
......Θέλεις να μπεις εδώ μέσα; (theleis na beis edtho mesa)
You wanna get in here???

also ,beware that at 3am every morning the Greek Councils move the large holes around!!

Have a good potter and when you overtake an annoying Quad bike make sure yer passenger gets 'em with the door as you pass.

Cheers , and be nice to an 'ole fart with a Punto , or Fiesta.
