Hi

today feeling much better after we was with Karl at the marina pool started to get back ache the next day well I was laying on the bed sleeping on and off all day.
It is my kidneys again either stones or an infection I had both before both hurt.
We have not been drinking any alcohol just water and more water

The weather is still good the odd cloud but nothing too severe
I went to restaurant last week ordered chicken souvlaki with chips
The chicken souvlaki came up no CHIPS instead rice
I said where's the chips sorry sir we have run out
Going fishing now 😂😂😂 fish and chips

The towel war is over it's the chip war now
Customers in restaurants are walking by your table and grabbing a handful of chips off your plate
The Tria have security guards now so the chip grabbers are stop in their tracks

and.... Wot is this I here about the recycle centre?
It has to close. Wot info I get is that there are not enough volunteers to govern it so many people take advantage and dump many items that are not easily sorted.
Example - The guys that just dumped loadsa old matresses
Just pass yer problem on, why doncher?

With no one there every day and the gates locked I regularly see , driving past  so much ***t left outside for someone to deal with. WOTYERWANT? SERVANTS?
Today , I see 2 large bags of crap and an old TV

and of course who gets the blame for trying to do the best for Arillas.?
All those organisers /volunteers who give up their free time.
Brouklis , Lezsek and many others.

C'mon , Greek Officialdom. Pull yer bloody finger out.
This is not the UK with "Jobs Worth" people wearing wooley hats

I await Dimitris ,Brouklis to enlarge on the real facts.

Cheers

Hi

one of the we have been going past for a few years now and you don't see anyone eating just a oldish man sit at one of the tables.
Last year we gave it a try the food was good
The old man just lets you eat in peace and quiet this year we have been in 3 times so far
Once you get to know the old man he has a wicked sense of humour the place I am talking about is The Pension Margarita
Last night he had a few more customers

We went in too and enjoyed it , only ever been in for a drink before. A proper Greek experience.
I wish Arillas today was mine , post holiday Blues are really taking hold now and I'm not usually like this ☹️
Everyone who's still out there simply ENJOY 😎

Jill & I "popped" into the Pension Margarita earlier this Year for a drink whilst out walking.

There were already a couple sat eating - Went inside & no one there but a bell on the bar so gave that a polite "ding".

After 5 minutes no one came so this time rang the bell a little more vigorously!!

With that the chap who I'd passed outside eating with his Wife shouted "5 minutes" - It was only the owner!! - For the life of me I'm not sure why he hadn't acknowledged me as I passed by him into the bar but must admit I felt a little foolish!!

We sat & had drinks for a while but no other customers arrived.

Strange Experience TBH.

Hi Neil & Jill

I remember taverns like that 1980s the old way of Greece Ipsos very small Greek village a few taverns one little shop if I remember rightly Patrickjohn from the forum stayed at Ipsos in the 70s. But it wasn't only Corfu a lot of Greece was like it for the better or not I love the old Greece

When I do my walks around Corfu I like to take a side path and see where I end up taking pics of the countryside on the way

Hi Kev

Yes - Things have changed a lot - TBH we find Arillas has changed a lot since the pandemic - I have fond memories of sitting in a chair in Sharon's pool with my feet in the soil with a beer & watching the World go by - There may have been the odd delivery van but nothing like Today - Happy times!!

We stayed in Ipsos in the early 80's with our eldest Son - We stayed up the road past the Squirrel's bar (Been back a couple of times & still same people) - Walked down into Ipsos to eat but remember a lot of fighting between locals & Italians.

Also remember cutting through the Club Med to get to the beach - The folk there were very "Hippified" (If that's a word?)- dressed just as Patrick & Julia were in his pictures from Ipsos & taking part in various exercises.

You're right regarding the "old" Greece - We've been to lots of Islands but like vthe World over things change but not always for the best?

Enjoy the rest of your Hols - 9 more sleeps for us & back again - Can't wait!1

As you say , change is not always for the best sadly but we can't stop the hnads if time sadly ☹️

Wodga mean "Old Boy" ?? - I saw yer zimmer frame tucked around the corner.
(Who put the go faster stripes on it??)

Twas good to sit at Tria and try n talk sense to you, even though I failed.
anyway.... always good that Bev listened and laughed at my jokes!!!.
Twas equally good to see Phil , after a long time, and much catch up needed there.

Meanwhile, Tonto disguised as a door , had his knob shot off!!

But I digress... 32 deg at 6:30 pm and a chilli for our evening meal.
I say to Wegg , "It's Chilli?" she says "No, it's 32 deg and sweaty"

Cheers

Hi

Went into Corfu today very hot day had a walk around the street market it was good.
All the proprietors in the market let me take photos of their stalls so colourful.
Then had a walk around the shops
Found a tavern in the shade and had a few jars ln all a good day

Corfu Town , Kevin? - Temps go up there by 4 or 5 deg than elsewhere!!
Yer a better man than I Gunga Din!! Look it up.

Meanwhile... I had a super Arillas afternoon even though Kevin had vanished to get outa buying me a beer.

and ... just for Karl. There were so many drivers, scooters , quad bikes. who all know how to negotiate these roads, it bought a tear to my eye.
I have never acknowledged so many careful road users in such a short space of time

A relaxed Rainbow and then sneaking into "Beach Kostas" early for a beer.
Park around the back and enter via kitchen - keep it quiet though
I feel like I have a jobsworth hat , sipping ale , and telling others...
....."Sorry we are not open until 4pm"

Tis September Guys and the temps are now on the way to respectable.
Good Oh!!!

Cheers
