There are butchers in Sidari but you can also buy excellent fresh meat at Brettas supermarket just outside Arillas.

Truth

Nots sure if Tria's facilities would be up for cooking meat to be honest . In fairness I am not up for cooking meat either !!!  :-)

Thanks Sandy, hope that's within walking distance, we understand about the cooking too but everything is so fresh it's just a pleasure.

Put it this way.....I wouldn't walk that far just to buy meat, but there is a good fruit and veg shop as well that you pass en route. Over a mile I would say from Tria, and uphill on the way there...

Hi

It is a nice walk especially back down.  We have always gone to the supermarket with a couple of back packs. Though should have made more of an effort to learn some Greek words as we end up making animal noises when buying meat. Also there is a great cafĂ©/taverna almost opposite  which we have always stopped at on the way back. The cakes are fantastic, works of art, and completely unexpected from the exterior.

We too like to eat in as well as out and have had no problems adapting to the cooking facilities. Simple but effective.

Would recommend going early morning before the heat kicks in.

Hope you enjoy.

Thanks Wacko We'll give it a go, simple is just fine, & the taverna sounds good.

Hi

I generally make those noises when I'm eating it!! .Wegg hates dining out with me.
(Can you imagine if places served horse meat? - (Winney, Winney all evening!!)

Anyway.... No more horsing around....
...I am told that many local Tavernas, etc  buy their fresh meat from Brettas.
(What a good advert that is for this Supermarket!)

Cheers

We almost never use the two ring cookers classically provided in most, if not all accommodations. You can eat more than adequately at Beach Point for very little money, and assemble a beach picnic (with alcohol included) for even less than that at the sea front shops. Try Ina's just past Horizon. If you want the "healthy option" that is even easier.

BUT there are many recipes to provide wholesome, tasty food that you could make on the limited facilities compared to your forever home. It's just that I can do that 24/7 and very often do when I am in my second home, Glastonbury. (My first home will always be Arillas. )

All the time I can only spend 4 weeks in Arillas per year, I want to taste the local food, to ask for recipes (usually offered) and learn. I am not rich (by modern standards  that is.) I can hear some shouting the opposite, but in the end I am rich beyond my wildest dreams to quote Robbie Williams. His was money, mine was well-being. I win that competition hands down.

Yes I am opening up as a result of demon drink. But those who know me will vouch that I am sincere.
