Previous Septembers average around 24 deg. From September it does chill a tad with those July/August visitors from Italy/Mainland Greece etc toddling away in their new vehicles , which still look new as they always drive in the centre of the road. So quieter is a nice way of describing it.

September is , in my opinion , a good time to be here. People have more time to chat and the "winding down start" to the Winter is hovering , ready to happen.

My other opinion? End of September - Beginning October and the laid back atmosphere with many looking forward to a Winter rest is in your favour. A good time to be here.
(The first 3 weeks in September is a good consolation prize. - I would take that anytime)

Cheers

Hit it on the nail again Neill.
Did the last two weeks of September last year excellent weather
Sea is warm and as you say locals have more time to share with you
A little cool at night but not as cool as it gets in May

Would love to make it three visits this year with a week in September.

we prefer Sept to May, as everyone says, its a little bit quieter, more time to chat with locals, sea is lovely and warm, we haven't seen any rain in Sept for four years, can get odd showers in May, and the sea is a bit on the nippy side!

We always go in September, usually the first week though last year we went at the end of the month.  Lovely time of year to visit, still nice and hot in the day, though like others have said can be a bit chilly in the evenings so bring a cardy.

Never been to Arillas in September but done loads of other a Greek Islands at that time of year and I agree , it's a great time to go !

We had a marvelous week in September last year.  The biggest difference I noticed was the lack of crowds and the lack of cicadas.  Teh first was a benefit :) the second something I missed :(

I would love to go again in September but we are somewhat restricted until Livi is a couple of years older and can stay at home on her own.

Still roll on August 4th ....

we went the last week in  September last year and we did not have any rain until the last day when we had thunder storms. Overall the weather was a lot nicer than we anticipated. We went on the beach every day. The sea was lovely and warm with lots of fish swimming in it. We have just returned from Ariillas and noticed that things were actually cheaper in July  than in September.   You would think it would be the other way around. For instance sunbeds on the beach were more expensive in September and also gifts such as sunglasses. You would think that it would be better to go early September rather than the end but the week before we were there last year there was bad weather - a lot of rain. September is always more of gamble than say July or August but mostly in Arillas even if it rains - it clears up within a few hours.

We wnet in September a couple of years ago, the first few days were overcasy & you definately needed a cardi in the evenings. The sea was warm though.
We are visiting this year the first week in September & just looking forward to chilling (& the wine festival!)

Hi.  September is superb.   Just a tad cooler in the evenings.  So far, over the years we`ve had marvellous weather.  But any time in Arillas is good.
