Hi, does anyone know what bars and tavernas might be open after easter. I have seen some cheap flights for 23rd April but not sure if many bars/tavernas will be open then.

Hello Lawlty,
As far as we know The Armourada  will open, Brouklis will be open on most of the evenings, the beach poind grill house  ( ex creperie) and of course Sharons pool on the beachfront.
A bit further from Arillas, the Monamour Taverna, the Night owl and the Akrotiri cafe.
Most places seem to open after the first of May   and some durring the seccond and third week of May. it all depends on the general accommodation availability of the area , the more bookings we have earlier in the season the better it is for someone to open.
many people decide to come specificly at this time of the year just because the place looks totaly differend than a touris resort. it is ideal for walking and total relaxing.

I needed to post this a couple of days ago, as I had planned to open the taverna during the 12th of April , but due to several issues  it seems that we will be opening after the Greek Easter  ( propably Sunday  the 22nd.
The reason why is that my family is involved in two large celebrations  one of these is the wedding of My nephew  Babis  the Son of Roula, my sister who cooks in the taverna, the other one is a christening  of Litsa's  cousign in the same week ,  Roula has been very busy organizing so I did not want to stress her too much as we have long season in front of us.
There are quite a few people right now in Arillas I keep recommending them to Armourada, Monamour  and Night owl. Sharons pool  and the new beach point, as well as the Akrotiri which has been a very busy spot since middle of March.

Im so pleased for Roula,s sake that you deciced not to open untell after the wedding, just wait tell your Son gets married (yes I know it might be quite a while) but you will see how stressfull it is for parents. Roula has done a fantastic job with Babis and I would like you to pass on our congratulations to him and his Wife. I am sure that both celebrations will be worth not operning yet a while.
Sorry to hear about the ear infection and hope it goes soon. Look after yourselves all of you. See you in the not to distant furture (altough it seems ages away)

I have to agree that many choose late April / early May because

the place looks totally different from a tourist resort. It is ideal for walking and total relaxing.

It is why Jen and I love the last week of season  when nearly everywhere is closed / closing. (We can't go in May.) You can always get fed and watered, and we never tire of being "all alone in Arillas." And in October the sea is really warm... We still adore our hectic July weeks but in a totally different way.

Do hope you are soon feeling better Dimitri. Please give my love to Roula, and of course Babis. Lost to a whole generation of women forever....we will never forget his season as lifeguard on the beach!!!! I hope they will be very happy.

Looking forward to seeing you all after 27 April.....as soon as my dad has recovered from the journey!
