HOrse Riding
« on: November 23, 2009, 04:15:29 PM »
Just a couple of pics of our horses that we went out on for a couple of hours.  This was where we stopped for a drink.

They know the route off by heart and just plod all the way round, they are accompanied by the dog that lives there, a couple of times we went on the country roads and if any car came, the dog would stop in front of the car to slow it down, and woe betide anybody on a moped it chased them!   When we got back, the saddles were taken off them and they could get a drink and eat, they were very happy horses.

We booked through Olga's Travel, they pick you up and take you to the stables.

What gorgeous animals! And you don't look too bad either Sharon ;)

This is an activity that requires staying sober and in control, so it has to go the same file with scooter-, motorbike- and carhire for me which is "Do not attempt after Royal Ionian" 8)
Life is good ;)

Howdy Sharon,

That looks a fun way to spend a few hours.  I'd like to give it a try,  are the stables far from Arillas?

They are just past Roda Eileen, you dont even need to have been on a horse before, its just a nice relaxing ride.  I got on no problem when we set off, but when we came to get back on just after these photos, I couldnt get my leg over!!! Lol, the nice young greek man had to give me a shove.

What a lovely thing to do... looks great.

Last time i was on a horse was in 1971... in Majorca.. we all went on a horse ride, my horse was a huge black thing... riding on the beach all romantic like and then whoosh!  he knew where he was going too.. heard the whistled instructions and we were off like the wind with me holding on like the Thelwell drawings.... never again!  frightened the life out of me... sort of lost the romantic feeling then!

I dont know about staying sober Erja in my younger days i would think nothing of riding a cow on the way back from the pub on friday night needless to say my clothes ended up covered in grass stains and cow dung after being dragged about a field lol
