Takeoffs and Landings
« on: October 17, 2009, 10:24:41 PM »
I received this email today ...

MCGCORFU has made a comment on Landing at Corfu Airport:

i can see my house just before you landed!!!!amazing!!

I then clicked on a link to MCGCORFU's Channel on Youtube and found these two amazing videos. The second video shows an Easyjet flight, taking off. I wonder if any forum members were on it?

we were flying to Corfu from Liverpool in Aug 2007, we had been quite a few times so new what to expect .we had just touched down then took off again and did a lap of the island there was another plane on the run way! that was scary! thought we were going to die of fright

I loved that one Viv, thanks for posting it. Wouldn't it be nice to get the chance to sit up front for a takeoff and/or landing.

Just the thought of it puts me into a tizzy. I have flown in cockpit's before it was stopped for security reasons but never into Corfu, what an experiance it would be. Viv

Thanks for the video Viv. I also watched some of the other [not Corfu related] landings. Why do I do this to myself!!!!!! I hate take offs & landings anyway. Watching some of those videos could put you off flying for life :(

On our arrival flight on the 12th we went through some pretty bad turbulance. It was expected. Apparently we were flying in a jet-stream, but somewhere over Italy, IT beared left & we needed to go right. Well - at times I thought the plane was going to fall out of the sky, it was sooo bumpy. Gary has never known me to be so quiet - I was petrified!  One advantage of the jet stream though, was that we landed an incredible 40 minutes early.
