Hi John,

After the long hours and stress of Nic's job I'm sure a little peace and tranquility wouldn't go wrong.  Fortunately the villa is within easy reach of Arillas to dip your toes into for a little bit of gentle razz and to catch up with all your friends. :-)

Well that's you sorted Heather...there's Nan and also Janis looking to share...I'm sure we can ask Neill to sort out the copious amount of wine that would be required ;-)

Hopefully see you next year.

Ha ha Nan - sorry, but we're already booked for September, staying at Horizon. Arriving the same day as Viv and Pete and leaving the day after them

BUT would love to see Villa Linakis "for real" with a view to visiting soon though!

We could be related - but only if you're a Yorkshire lass through and through ???

Janis which bit of god's county are you in? whilst we live in donny, nic is from harrogate and I'm a visitor (of 17 years) from cheshire.

Heather, I'm on your side.
QuoteOmg have so loved this thread

Eileen and Keith's Villa Linakis is a very special place. There is a sort of magic about it. Many posts on here have strengthened that point of view. The pictures that Pommie posted on this thread did too. Another part of our Arillas.

Eggy - I'm a bit concerned that the goat lady hasn't appeared yet this week. Linda thinks you may have spoken to her (in that fluent greek you use at the supermarket) about my passion and that she has spent the last 4 days preparing herself.

Should I expect her to appear on tractorman's vehicle at the weekend garlanded with summer flowers and followed by the entire village singing Greek bridal hymns?

Also Linda has succumbed to a sort of Gerald Durrelesque fantasy and is walking round the beautiful garden wearing a floppy hat and dead heading plants like a mad thing. I told her to leave the olive tree.

She already had a rather dishy Greek bloke stop on his Honda 50 and ask her questions in Greek. We have no idea what he was saying / proposing but she did enjoy the attention :-)

She wanted to know if it is OK to water the ones that are looking a bit thirsty, but was worried to do do in case you are on a meter and would prefer her not to.

Eileen

Pommie....if per chance the dishy Greek happens to call again please ask Linda to pass my number on once she's finished with him.... ;-)

Could be something to do with the air up there - or quite possibly the effect of Greek wine - but I too love to switch off and wander around dead heading.  Please thank Linda for me and yes it's fine to water the plants, they and me will much appreciate it. :-)

Eileen.

Once she's finished with him he will be ready for dead-heading too Eileen.

Linda will be very excited to have watering rights. She just need a black-and-white ruffed lemur and her fantasy world will be complete.

er hang on ... I'm getting a feeling of deja vu coming on now.

I'm loving this thread!.....

...NicandJohn - I was born in Halifax and now live not far away in Huddersfield.

Yorkshire lass through and through!

If you want to see how the swallows are doing check out my posts on Eileen's Villa Linakis Facebook page

(Just search for Vila Linakis on Facebook and look at the Villa Linakis and Others tab)

They are so cute - all 3 have fledged now and are busy flying around being taught what to do by Mum and Dad.

Their swallow tails seem to have grown overnight from the little stubs they had yesterday!

Well it's been a wonderful few days - great meals and barbques and a boat trip. We especially enjoyed dinner at Horizon with our friends Liz and Garry who joined us this week. The young waiter with the very tight white jeans sent Linda into a flutter when he promised her "I'll be your lover in England now" whilst I was videoing the scene. It was only when she asked him to repeat himself (as she wanted to to be sure she was onto a goodthing), that we realised he had said, looking at the video camera, "I'll be all over England now". Linda had gone all girly and embarrassed so she must have been getting all excited, but a return visit won't be happening as she lost a crown whilst eating a sandwich on our boat trip and we we don't think it's a very good look for attracting handsome Greek waiters. We did manage to sample the chocolate suffle though and it's as good as was promised!

The boat trip was great and we found a fantastic fish taverna on the beach at St Georges.

Tonight we are planning on dropping in on Costas on the Beach. We like the  "cover charge for dread" on the menu there.

The villa is as wonderful as we remembered it and Eggy and Weggy have been so kind and helpful. Eileen you have two real diamonds there!

We are counting down now - last full day tomorrow, but it's been another great Villa Linakis experience.

Pommie, your video experience in Horizon really made me laugh....glad you've had another good holiday.

Back home now :-(

We ended up at Portofino for our last meal out and were entertained by Spiros's banter whilst we filled up on stamnas and corfu chicken. Both highly recommended! Portofino takes our vote this year for favourite restuarant. The huge bunch of flowers and basil from the garden that Spiros put in front of Liz was such a lovely gesture!

It was sad to say goodbye to Villa Linakis again - it is SUCH a beautiful place. We've heard that the next guests are a bit suspect, but we're sure that Eggy and Weggy will keep them under control.

Eggy - don't forget to ask Rula how they do that spicy chicken and those pork kebabs at the supermarket please!

Sad to say that goat lady seems to have done a flit - she was part of the holiday last year. Otherwise everything was lovely again.

Anyway I hope you all enjoy your holidays as much as we enjoyed ours!

Pommie, I live just up the hill from Eileen and the goat lady was around a few weeks ago when I was there. If it is the same person, she has short black hair? The goats terrorise me when I drive down my track because they are tied up on a rope and I am always worried I'll strangle them when I drive across it!!
