Thomas Cook flight change
« on: February 13, 2009, 03:00:31 PM »
I have just had aphone call from a Thomas Cook rep  informing me that our departure flight time has changed, we now depart at 11pm instead of mid afternoon. We land in Newcastle at 12.50am. Not very convenient when i am back at work at 8am that morning. We wont get home before 3am.
I suppose on the plus side we do get a few more hours in Arillas but I will now have to take another half day holiday!

That's not nice Karen/Colin you will have to hang around just waiting to go. Can you work instead on your departure day and shift the day off to the end of your holiday?

I'd rather get there in the daytime and you'd think having booked a mid afternoon flight that you would be "safe". It's quite a bit of an alteration to be put back to nearly midnight!!  Do you think this will be a common thing this year as companies try to fill up flights and cut back? It must be a nightmare with little ones...

Look forward to your hols anyway

Cheers Nan x

That's exactly it nan. Spend your time and money getting on a child-friendly flight, doing your best for your little ones, and then getting told you are going overnight is disgraceful.

Our little ones are 27, so for us it is annoying but not such an issue. There may be reasons, but they should never downgrade their flights like that.

Our departure flight has (so far) remained unchanged thankfully so we still arrive mid afternoon.
As for our little ones-we only have one little one coming with us this year (age 17) & she is looking forward to a night flight & an extended holiday! It is all a great adventure for her as she is doing cabin crew training at college.
It is us old ones that are inconvenienced.
Still i am not going to let it upset the holiday-19 weeks & we will be almost there.

Our outward flight from Newcastle unchanged so far.
In bound flight has changed to get us back late at night,so had to put in extra day off work.
On the plus side more time in Corfu.

Andy.

Just picked up our tickets today. Our flight was 5.45.am, now changed to 5.25am. Getting earlier. We're not bothered though as its a nice time to get into corfu airport. Whats 20mins, we'll not sleep anyway the night before. 9 more shifts at work. Countdown underway, the call of the mythos is getting louder.

Hi Lynn .   You`re making me nervous now.  We`ve not yet had our tickets, and we go before you.  We were told 10 to 14 days tho. Fingers crossed........
