Due to my new working pattern I was thinking about heading out to Corfu for a few days in the Winter ( I love the quiet). As many of you know getting there, especially from anywhere outside London in the Winter months is a living nightmare. Outbound from Manchester the Olympic flight is the most direct option but the transfer times in Athens are horrific, either 35 minutes (no chance) or about 16 hours, well looking through the flight computers today I noticed this:

Olympic are now running the flight an hour earlier out of Manchester giving you a much more healthy 90 minute transfer time at Athens, still risky for a slot 3 departure as it can pick up many delays throughout the day but definitely an option. The inbound leg is still an issue with an almost full day wait at Athens but of you have the the time the ferry to Venice connects very nicely with the Ryanair to Liverpool which costs about £15 including taxes at the moment. If you did not have a cabin on the ferry the whole round trip comes in at under £300

Not sure if this is practical for anyone but would make a nice and very peaceful winter break if you could find somewhere to stay.

Someone said that the Akti are open during the winter this year so that might be a viable trip for anyone that can make it.

Don`t supose you have heard any rumours re Easyjet from Manchester?

Thanks Joe. That might be a lifeline for us this winter. We were resigned to a long wait until June, but this might open it all up for early in the year.

I have heard a few things but unfortunately all rumours, I would be suprised if Easyjet came up here there is lot of competition from the charters but if they priced it right it may work. Still not 100% sure they will be doing the LGW flights next year, it did well enough but if they need to reduce capscity this could be one of the ones to go.

Oh No!  I hope not... we were hoping to go with them again.
