Hello,  two weeks til I visit Arillas with my hubby and 9 year old son for the first time.  We've chosen to stay at the Markris Apartments.  We have found a few photos but limited info.  Can anyone please tell me if there is air-con?  Also if towels are supplied in the room and how often they are changed!

I'm getting so excited now...  Any info, you might think will benefit us, i.e best places to eat, nice walks etc, etc would be most apprecited.  After a recent Florida holiday we are looking forward to relaxing in the pool and enjoying family time - and a few drinks all chilled out!!!

Thanxs xx

Hello Hazman,

You will love it at the Makris,we are going there for our 3rd consecutive year at the end of this month. There is air con but you have to pay extra, not sure how much.
We got two towels per person and if you wanted them changing we just left them outside. The family are really nice and if you needed any more i am sure you only have to ask. The breakfast they do is excellent value and sets you up nicely for a day by the pool.. Their lunch and tea time meals also represent great value. One night i would recommend is the BBQ night where you get plenty of food to eat and good entertainment provided by the family. If like the past 2 years we have been everyone lets their hair down and joins in it will be a night to remember.
How long are you going for, we are there from the 28th.

Cheers

We're arriving early hours of the 22nd for two weeks.  Can't wait now!!!  Planning on getting a taxi transfer since I heard the coach transfer can be a bit long haul,- if you're unlucky!!

Thanks for the info, we didn't realise the Makris did food.  we booked online through Thomas Cook - but through Manos!?!  But haven't been able to find any info in their brouchures.  But it seems to be just what need... Its going to be a long two weeks in work.. thinking about the cold mythos with my name on it... Can't wait.

thanks again.

Hi Hazman,
As we arrive on 18th July for 3 weeks we will cross paths for our last/your first week.
My wife and i will be easy to spot by the side of the pool drinks by our side trying to pretend the four kids making lots of noise are not really ours LOL

Cheers

How old are your kids?  It's always a worry for our son that there won't be many kids his age about (The downside of being an only child!)  He'll be pleased that there'll be other kids splashing in the pool.  I'm sure your kids won't even be heard with Harry about!!!  Three weeks, aren't you lucky!

Getting excited now...want to start packing already!

Myself and my family ( hubby,2 girls,15 and 10 ) have just spent 2 weeks at the Makris. The room was perfect for us with plenty of room and very clean. We really enjoyed the Greek night that the family put on with Helen and Maria's dancing! The food,as someone else stated,is very good and reasonably priced ( though they did charge my youngest 1 euro 50 for a regular bag of Quavers!),the english breakfst means you're not hungry again til the evening.
The only downside we found was the family's attitude as our holiday ended. They were all smiles and friendly until we were due to leave and then it switched off!We were not the only ones that felt this change,3 other couples noticed it too.I totally understand that their concern was making money from all the "newbies" as our holiday was over. But it was a silly mistake ( and not very Greek ) as we loved Arillas so much that we will definitely be going back, but due to this we will be staying ( and spending our money ) elsewhere.

Hi Hazman,

just re-read this thread and i think i must have drunk a little too much wine as i got my dates totally mixed up.We arrive on the 28th July so we will meet you.
As for the other comment about the family attitude i can only say that when we have left, the past 2 years, Elena,Maria and Georgina have all wished us a safe journey home and waved us off.It is a shame they did not do this for you but maybe there was something which prevented this. please give them the benefit of the doubt as i am sure if you return they will not only remember you but wish you a safe trip home when you leave.
as for thew crisps, they have been that price for the last 2 years, don`t know why!!

Hi Mike,
Many thanks for the reply, and I dearly hope you are right as I loved everything about Makris including the family and we'd had many laughs with them during our 2 weeks there.
I will definitely think about following your advice and going there again.
Nicky

ps.I also liked the distance of makris, though the walk was hard in the heat when we were all sandy and oily from the beach I only gained 2 pounds with all that walking! I normally gain half a stone with 2 weeks in Greece!

Mike and Debbie

Nicky,
i am sure you will not be disappointed. When we returned the 2nd year we were a bit "do you think they will remember us?". As we arrived Elena came down to welcome us back and it was obvious she did. However that got us thinking "were we that bad nobody could forget us" but we were assured it was not.
