I've stayed at the Makris before - clean and VERY spacious. Just a bit further to stagger home at night than some but as Sharon says, plenty of reviews on here. There is now a pool there too.

Jo stays at the Marinaki on the sea front.....and loves it!

Nicky, they are in a lovely spot and the family who owns them really can't do enough for you.  The food is delicious too!  You'll love it.  There are loads of photos on here somewhere if you search in accommodation reviews.

We haven't actually stayed at the Makris, but we had our welcome meeting there while at Kokinos (it was our nearest pool) so we visited it a few times.  Our first taste of koumquat, too...

They were all lovely and friendly and put on a very entertaining Greek night.  I'm sure you'll love it there, Nicky.  Be sure to let us all know!

All the Best,
lynn and colin

Hi justlynn ,

We are returning for our 3rd year at the Makris arriving on 28 July for 3 nice relaxing weeks. The apartments are really nice and the family who run them are wonderful. The apartments are cleaned nearly every day by the Mum and the Gran ( a lovely lady always with a smile for you). The daughters Maria and Elena run the bar and cook the food which if you don`t facy the walk to the front is excellent.Their breakfast is also one of the best we could find and certainly fills you up for the day.The BBQ night they do is not to be missed and is well worth the price, it includes the food and traditional Greek dancing and all are welcome to join in and have a go, really good fun.

Anyone else staying there when we are?

thanks
Mike

Hi Mike and Debbie!

From reading entries on the forum it seems to be a very child friendly place which is reasuring this day and age. We have the luxury (NOT!) of a night flight arriving early hours 5th Aug, and are hoping that the transfer is not too long from the airport.  We are coming from Yorkshire flying from Manchester. My daughter is 16 1/2 and her boyfriend has just turned 17 do you think that the resort will be too quiet for them? I know my son will be fine, as long as there is a beach and a pool within walking distance he is happy.

Hi,

My eldest daughter is 17 and her boyfriend who will be with us is 19. The resort is generally quiet although there are the coconut or malibu bars where my daughter has spent many an evening and met others her own age. we have been for the past 2 years and she doesn`t get bored and i am sure they could all go out together and have plenty of fun.

Looking forwards to sampling that lovely greek food and drinking plenty of the falling down water!! Will meet up for a few bevvies by that welcoming pool if you like. We haven't been to Corfu for 20 years so are curious to see if things there have changed at all. We went to Ipsos and Messonghi previously. Did a tour of the Island on motorbikes and liked the look of the beaches in the Northern part. Not long to go now thank goodness are both ready for a relaxing break. :D
