Website updates and technical stuff

Soon you will see some small changes on the attitude of our website.
This has to do with upgrading the security and functionality of the software that the website uses to run properly.
Teh software I;m using to run this website is called joomla ( www.joomla.org) it is an opensource content management system ( CMS) which meawhile hase bacome very famous and is used by thousand's of websites.
The forum is an other open source project developed by an other group of progamers called SMF Simplemashines Forum (www.simplemachines.org/)
Since last April, I have set the website so that the forum and the main website was one unit with the same login system and functions, no mater whether you are on the forum or on the main website.  for this I used a program called forum bridge or integrator.
Since last July the two communities have had some conflicts concerning their distribution licenses and the integration of Joomla and SMF which is not any more supported for the coming versions.

So I have been having some great dilemmas whether to move into another software and start learning from scratch , which means that YOU  also have to get used to new functions and settings etc. or to keep it like it is and see what happens , which can lead us to major security issues,  or to split the website again like it was before in to two pieces: The website and the forum.   
For the moment I'm preparing the website to be again in to two pieces but I have made some custom modifications in so the two different parts will be looking much the same with each other.

when I will start doing this we will have in the beginning some dis-functionalities  like login problems , or dead links which I hope to beat them day by day .

Your efforts on the website might be marketing, but is so much more.

I do understand the domain name server issues and try to pretend I don't. I'm not a know all. Open source will always come with these risks. Jenny and me will follow you through this technical difficulty no matter what and will help as we can. The whole forum owes you this support and we will do it. Ask them!! We are the Arillas Addicts!!!

finally I did the upgrade without having to change much of the layout.
After banging my head on the keyboard,
l managed to keep using the intergrator by modifying only some of the code AND covered all the security issues.
Many thanks to Marika, Riggers, Lindypops and Justl@@kin that stayed by me last night and helped each with his way!
the only difference (that I noticed) is that from now on the Small Talk is working a bit slow and you now have to add your name each time you shout a message.
If you notice anything alse please let me know!!

this has to do with each member's award. the folowing picture will show you the colors of every member group
That makes easier to  see at a glance what position the specific  member has.
