I want to know when Barry will be playing at the festival. Arillas Song plus supporting programme.... it'll be a sell out!

Good on yer Barry - just never let it slip! Have thoroughly enjoyed the little insight into your time there and your posts, thanks to you and Eggy both

Phil

Great post Barry, enjoy the rest of your holiday and dont drink and drive, and if you see a little red pug coming towards you give way, it could be our roving reporter. Viv

I told him to wait till I breathed in for that photo !
AND
hired a boat and Tried the Captain last night for first time

Well Barry - I thought you were breathing in! - Whoops
Me, a weirdo? - And I've just had my head shaved to look like you and confuse people!

" Hired a boat and tried the Captain?"  - Hmmmmmm! -
(You're on holiday - Whatever lights yer candle!)

Arillas today brings you in a temp of 35 deg at 6 pm. I don't know if this has snuck up a bit or dropped a twinge in the last hour.
Euro 1.245 on the richter scale.

Beach looking good.

This is the nearest I can get to an "action" picture with many goings on.

There may be quite a few of you interested in this one!

Trying to translate this, and getting a headache, I think the translation is, something like:-
" Days of Wine - Gathring of grapes 12th & 13th - ( Sept maybe? )
I can see the word "Orchestra" but am struggling with the others.
Dimitris - Help please.

Cheers
Negg

Arillas Today looks as good as it ever is. The attempt at summer here saw us in many layers of clothes and shivering in the pub garden. Me dreaming of 35 degrees and ice cold Mythos in Arillas...

And then we looked at Post Office rate today - 1.16 euros to the pound. Howled with anguish.... right now 1.245 sounds excellent.  Should have taken the advice and invested the life savings in euros. Oh well, it's only money.

BG - we are just as excited as you about the wine festival (12th to 13th.) Sounds like it lasts all night and the next day! Even the Arillas hippies won't cope with that.....

Thanks for the post Eggy. See you in not too long.
Phil

I dont think we would cope with an "all nighter/day" either, glad we are at the quiet end at the Bardis Sun if we want to escape for some peace and quiet.  Still we are on holiday it doesnt matter what time you eventually get to bed does it and whatever, it sounds like fun!

I am forecasting the Euro to match the pound.. a few cents isnt going to make much difference is it?  Just have to eat less and drink more!

Exaclty Blondegirl , if the Euro ends up matching the pound, just drink more and eat less. Might be less confusing for me maths is not my strong point. I usually create my self a spread sheet with Euro to pound conversions on so can see at glance how much I've spent.

Looking forward to september

I have trouble putting the quotes in Riggers...it messes up big time..

I have problems with the money as well Mary... I am as blind as a bat without my reading specs and when you are in the shops and they are so dark I cant see the denominations of the small coins and hold the queue up, thats why we have so many coins at the end of the holiday, I just hand notes over... Mike has do to the adding up.  I give up trying to work out the equivalent in the UK.  We have a bagful of little coins to take with us again - might be enough for a few ouzos!

Me too I have a purse full of Euro coins, Ken is very good at maths and laughs at my spread sheet and me constantly saying what's that in pounds? By about the third day I give up and what I spend ends up in oblivion and I haven't a clue what I've spent. I also end up taking  my reading glasses on and off, no wonder my last pair snapped. Good idea to save the coins for Ouzos though.

Right now we treat 1 euro as 80p here ( 10 cents = 8 pence )

I think thats a good average at e1.24 after commision.
