Just been catching up with Arillas Today.
Missed out last week as I had to train a temp to do my job - squeeze a month's work into one week - not possible!!  Had an operation on my shoulder yesterday and I am now off work for 6 weeks - hence the temp.  Yesssssssss!!

Elgin Marbles don't compare with you Eggy - far less interesting (and yes, I have seen them in the flesh, well in the marble!)

Likewise - sorry we missed you in June.  The Coconut/Malibu meeting time did not fit into our eating schedule, but I was hoping we might have met at Brouklis.  Sadly I don't think we will be back this year.  Due to Roy and I both having to have (the same) operations we couldn't book well in advance and have now "missed the boat" with regard to availability and flight prices. Hopefully we'll be there for two months in 2009.

Fiona n Roy
2 months in 2009 sounds good to me !
------------------------------------------------------------------

Arillas today and , If you were lucky to get a peak or two at the webcam you would have seen it's another Sunday with locals + holidaymakers taking advantage of the beach. And what better recommendation for a beach is there when you have to share with those who recognise a goodie when you have it.

A very acceptable temp of 27 deg'ish today but due to no breeze felt much hotter.

We say goodbye here today to Dave n Anne tomorrow who gave Wegg n I the pleasure of their company and also were not afraid of using the legs.
Porto Timoni ? - From Arillas ? - in that heat ? -
( We should have stayed at Night Owl all afternoon after that! )
Dave - I did look in the Tria, from the outside, but as I did not see anyone at the bar figured you were getting a last minute shot at a suntan.
And why not ! - Holidays are very important and must take priority over socialising.

Do I forget Cheryl,  Timbo plus young James here? Nope, also back to the UK avrio.
Very good people to have around you and come back soon y'all.

An extra mention for James here as, being a teenager, he is the future of any resort.
Plenty to do in Arillas, had a good time and luvved it to be bits.
Should we all stop saying Arillas is a quiet place to be and instead say:-
" Arillas has plenty to offer the young folk? "

A very natural player of darts is James and very big "thankyous" to him, and Tim who helped me to rekindle a welcome interest in the game.
( and Cheryl, of course , who had to sit, at Rainbow, & watch 3 men do men things! )
A final word to Tim-Sell those shorts of yours!-They don't enhance your game at all

About it - Sorry about the babble - I suppose I could have saved time and just said:-

" Arillas is another pretty damm good day today "

Cheers
Negg

Stay well and wishes to y'all

I've been a lazy bunny recently and "Arillas Today" has taken a back seat.  I've been taking part in that "Big W" thing that most of us endure - "Work" - AArrgh!
But, it pays the bills and is fun sometimes!

A very sweaty, after work,  Eggy got to Arillas yesterday, around 6:30 pm, and very busy on the beach it was too! - And what a great time to be there.
I could have stripped off all clothing and plunged in the sea.
But..... A. - I very rarely swim and B - I would have frightened everyone.

Arillas Today is a repeat of yesterday. Very busy mid afternoon. Probably busy all day.
7:15 here now and 32 deg on the guage.
Many towels on the balconies of AB appts plus a busy pool, can only be good but nowhere to park a Red Pug.
That is,of course,  unless I stuck it on top of a hire Panda..
( I did try but some tourists thought  it was two amorous cars affected by the heat)
Can I say that Dimitris ?
Brouklis could ban me for that and Terry W may come up with a picture!

However...........................
I think end July and through August is a good time to be here. You will find Italians, Germans and Greeks from the mainland plus a few other nationalities.
Everybody all wanting a good time and, as you sit in a Taverna, listening to all the languages, remember that they do the same. We're no different really.
Good time, meet good people, priority one!

I'm so nice really that it frightems me!
Mind you, I have yet to be approached by a red Ferrari, in the middle of the road.
(If that happens I just might manouvre the Pug to take its wing mirror off! - Hee Hee)
I'm not proud though - A new Mercedes would do just as well.
I can't think of an English Car - Anyone know one I can aim for ?
( Haven't seen many Rolls Royces here! )

Stay well all

It's a bummer to hit a hummer. - Sorry , just had to be said. - Poetry class over!

Arillas Today? - But....
.......... first last night. - Who remembers the post "water from Arillas" by Gotty & Liz?
We met Gotty and Liz, last night at Brouklis, plus their little bundle of joy, Fillippo.
The water from Arillas has played it's part and helped make a lovely little boy who seemed quite content to stay out of the limelight and let Mum n Dad enjoy a little prime time together.
( Water from Arillas is under general chat for those who may have missed it )
___________________________________________________________________

This afternoon with around 30/32 deg I found a very busy beach.
( But to be able to find a little spot for Pug was a bonus! )

You'll have to take my word for it that those brollies continue all the way down to the end of the naturist beach. A big zoom lense may have got me in trouble though!

Just a twinge more peaceful on the other side of the beach.

A special treat for those arriving to Arillas today.

Should be a very good Saturday evening!

And....... Not forgetting my little visit to Hotel Thetis around 5 ish when owner Spiros was welcoming some new guests.

This is forum member "Yubby Yeeks" and family who I'm sure will be more than pleased to enjoy all that Thetis can offer.

Just a snip preview for anyone staying there soon.

( Photo published by permission of all concerned )

A quick "sad" welcome back to the UK for John the Ref and Dott who I met very briefly and would have loved to meet again. - Sorry Guys.
(I forgot the new football pitch John. I'll click a pic when I'm around there next time.)

And Annie who goes home today. Another brief meeting. All these holidays get in the way of someone who loves a good "rabbit"

But you're all on holiday and sometimes, just sometimes, I have got a few little jobs to do to earn a crust to keep me in the Ouzo to which I am accustomed .
Today I managed to mix business with pleasure and that's what it's all about.

Last word for Timbo and, "Whizz Kid"  James who can take a fly's eye out, with a piece of tungsten, at 50 paces, - LOOK WOT I GOT !

Look out you "hammer chewers" - This time next year I'll be putting 3 arrows all on the same board!

Stay well all

Negg

You look so at home John. Almost at peace!

Maybe you should transfer your professional activities to Kavaddades and surrounding areas....

Best wishes
