Harold ,Passed you Guys with Viv n Pete, last night. Hope all is well with all.
-----------------------------------------

Although Arillas Today hovers around the 25 deg mark, there is talk of overnight rain.
- Hmmmmm! -We shall see, many are talking a heavy rainfall. Bah , humbug!

Many "goings ons" around the Corfu Brewery, this afternoon, preparing for next weeks Festival.
Should be a good time and, just like the Olympics in Athens, everything will be ready for lift off.

Cheers

Thanks Eggy, your little snippets always give me feeling that I'm actually there. I was just thinking about you too because an elderly white punto just went past my house. It couldn't have been you, or could it?! :-)

Eggy

Twernt me , Lass. And I am glad you said "Elderly White Punto" not "Elderly IN a White Punto"

Forecast not looking super for the next coupla days.

Be Well

Be well, be happy

Fair warms my heart to read the "snippets." Harold/Sally, Viv/Pete clearly doing what we all do best - Arillas. And so full of admiration how viv has changed manfriend every day so far.... mind you, a fair few Arillas men yet to pose for the photo with her!

As for "elderly in white Punto" Eggy, you don't qualify. White, yes. Punto, Yes. But elderly??? I think "monument" might have been a better word. They can be ancient of course, but never elderly! Dictionary definition:

"an exemplar, model, or personification of some quality, especially when considered to be beyond question"

An exemplary personification of Arilliac, definitely beyond question. But never "elderly!!"

Harold n Sally n Viv n Pete are clearly not on sunbeds today as constant rain and a tad cold at 16 deg would leave only those who jump into the Thames, on Xmas morning, to try them out.

Thunder is around , at 5 pm ish , and rain is on the cards for avrio.

However, all I have met this afternoon, do not really care and continue to take advantage of those around them for a healthy bit of good conversation.

But..... We all hope this "wet stuff" goes away before the Beer Festival.
(Water is only for Ouzo not for "Real Ales")

Cheers

With 25mm of rain being recorded in the last 36 hours , and still raining, at midday, plus heavy thunder that seems to make the house vibrate, plus lightning, I think it will be a "different" Arillas Today.

The art of conversation will increase much, much more and many books will be read. Iced coffee will be traded in for mugs of cocoa and all dart player's hands will be too cold to enjoy the game.

Our evening out, at Agios Georgos last night, was a night to remember. Driving back in torrential rain and then coming home to "Nil Power" as, I think, water had leaked into an outside light and tripped the circuit breaker which refused to be switched back on. Took me an hour to sort it out.
Why am I telling you all this?? - Maybe a gentle reminder, to me, that it's not all paradise here.

So at midday and 16 deg with 87% humidity and my 3rd hankie in use I will see you later.
(Lightning back so unplug router/phone time, again.

Take it easy all

Hate to think what your track looks like, after everything has settled down!!

(Our track has become a sort of muddy skating rink - We save on petrol and slide home)

I do feel sorry for Kes n Paul n Denise , Eric n Sue and all others here at the moment. Even I am struggling to put a brave face on, right now.

Can't remember the last afternoon that I went out in a sweat shirt and jacket.

Nature was kind and eventually gave us 18 deg at 6pm. but very cold, (My opinion)

I was told, much earlier that flights in and out of Corfu were cancelled but have recently been updated that "Normal Service" is slowly being resumed.

So, anyone in the UK waiting for friends or family may need to check flight time websites.

Thank you for your kind words, Eggy, you know my secret!  The weather was truly vile, the airport was total chaos yesterday, planes just couldn't land so were being diverted and cancelled, there was hardly any standing room anywhere.  Loads of people were put up in hotels overnight.  I felt bad when my flight took off on time but things were starting to clear weather-wise by 5pm.  Our coach driver didn't seem to think he needed to adapt his driving, I have never in my life seen as much water on roads.  Needless to say, his lack of attention resulted in him not seeing a red light, a man on the coach had to scream at him to stop.  He didn't manage and ended up skidding across the road hitting a car and causing quite a few gasps, we were lucky!

Thanks again for your time, Eggy, always a pleasure to share a beer or two with, see you next year.

Well... Who thought we would get up to 22deg and sunny by 3pm? (23 deg at 5pm)

Bodies appeared on sunbeds, by magic, a sort of a beam me DOWN Scotty!!

There are many here who eagerly await the Beer Festival and what a well organised event this will be!

Big thanks owed to Dirk Fischer for keeping us updated!

And moi - poor 'ole Eggy who looked into the Rainbow Toilet mirror today and thought "It's a wonder I get served in this state" - Well maybe a shave and a head polish will make things right.

If not I will babble on until someone finds my off switch!!
(And I know you are all searching for it!!! - Who hired the Private Investigator?  - You Guys!

Tonight will be our final Darts Function , at Armourada so , if you are here and read this, come along for a beer and meet, maybe some locals you just read about. - We don't bite and anyway I don't have teeth!
(Phil refuses to lend me his and anyway I don't need bits of souvlaki)

Arillas Today is like the Arillas Yesterday.......

21 deg and dry at midday ish. The beach looks super and, now that many sunbeds have been removed, very spacious. There are still a few people here and although a few Tavernas have closed there are still enough eateries to choose from.

So, wind down starts to begin this week, and Rainbow said goodbye to it's final guests, last night, but not before they all sat with the family for a huge Barbie. How nice is that?

I think Tria Adelphia closes today and will pop in for a drink with Phil.

It will , I think, be a Winter of very few posts, as there will not be much to tell.
However, I am sure we will be on catch up, next Summer, especially when Phil n Jen are here, to add another 6400 plus,views/hits in 14 days. Another Gold Medal, maybe for Roving Reporter Number One?
Points don't mean prizes but it's a credit to the Boss, for a great site, and by the interest shown by all of you, I do know that gives him great satisfaction.

Any news that comes my way and any pics I can post will , of course appear

I wonder if Phil, has got that photo, of a Mythos bottle which may cheer us up in weeks to come.
(Or was it Phil? - Not sure now - Well someone has one somewhere, surely.)
Plus of course pics of the fine food at various Tavernas. Maybe a new Topic?

If any Darts happen, this Winter, I will keep , those interested on the "Darts" Topic, but I am not running a Winter League, and hang up my Tungstens for a while. -
(Whose that cheering out there? - Cheryl?? )

Cheers Guys and Kalo Himona.

Not quite, I'm sad that the summer is over but only for me, everyone else is in dire need of a good rest over there, it's been a cracking season!  I hope you keep checking in every now and then and can I request an 'Arillas This Week' post maybe?  I know you will be busy so as and when you get chance.  Take care, see you next year xx
