The are great Vivian! I love photo's like that! :)
I always have a great holiday in Arillas.... I wish I could take it up professionally!

Do you know that, since Phil n Jen have been here, there have been approx 1300 viewings of this post?

Obviously we are all eagerly following their daily reports and, like a good book, can't put it down.

I just may find them today for an update, or an autograph! Good on yer!

25deg at midday and no breeze at Kavaddades. Weekend looks a hottie.

Cheers

Arillas today is sadly not where I am, after three and a half glorious weeks I am now back in (a at least warm and sunny) Cardiff.

It was great meeting lots of old friends and lots of new friends too. Too many to mention, and I may forget someone, but those I spent passing the time pleasantly with know who you are. Thank you for your time.

A huge thank you also of course to the locals who provided such fantastic hospitality once again, how they continue to work so hard yet remain so cheerful is beyond me particularly when my sense of humour sometimes adds to their woes.

Sadly the number of visitors is down this year making less reward received for all the hard work.

For users of the South beach while it is much better than in previous years it seems on occasions to have been invaded by our German friends staying at the local Clubs. I experienced two confrontations on the beach this year.

The first was when I was accused of stealing when I cleaned the beach up one morning, removing all the bottles, cups and other plastic bits of rubbish which they had used use for their green mud and had left behind the previous evening.

The second confrontation was a bit more annoying after their actions resulted in a mother and young daughter being made so uncomfortable that they left the beach and an older couple who were on a first visit to Arillas saying they would not return. Fortunately this was a one off annual event and I complained to the organisers but have not yet received a reply. I have no doubt that majority of local people of Arillas would not be happy to know that actions of others could lose them potential customers. Rant over.

For those still in Arillas, and those due out soon, enjoy!...........and if my euromillions numbers come up tonight, see you Monday.

Rant  duly accepted Dai... Living here, I could rant every week and suffer a cardiac arrest by August.

Really pleased though your prime time was 99% good.

And.... my previous post of a "Breeze free day" ? = WOTDOIKNOW?

The breeze appeared in Kavaddades 30 minutes later and there was a breeze in Arillas. But..... with a dry 28deg, at 7pm, who gives a monkeys if the plastic chairs are winging their way past the balcony , as I type.

Be well me'boy and remember the answer to the question.
"Wots worse than a hippie in Arillas?"
(Bugger - I may be in trouble now!)

You're never in trouble with us Arillas hippies my dear friend. We are here whether we're wanted or not, but my guess is that we are, judging by the number of big hugs initiated by others. Some who have never met us. I prefer when it is by a female for some unknown reason.

Dai's rant is understood as well. But he has said it so I won't.

Nothing here will stop me feeling how I do. Arillas Today is feeling the benefit of the Mistraio winds. It is cooler but those looking for a major tan will be just as satisfied. The plastic chairs are no longer flying past every window, but love and friendship are diving into them all.

The exchange rate holds at about 1.26. After commission about 1.22.

Arillas Today? PERFECT.
Phil

LINDAK

Hi Phil - lovely to meet up with you and Jen last week. Told her I was going home and joining the forum so here I am !!!  My friend Christine and Duncan are still over there and it is killing me. Sat in my office looking out of the window at the dreary view and wishing I was still with you all. Never mind - next year to look forward to. Enjoy the rest of your stay - which really goes without saying and lov to all at Bardis xxx

Linda, glad you're now a member and posting. Keeps Jen and me happy through the long winter.

Welcome to forum, say hello to all of our forum friends. Will take until you next come back to heaven.....

Don't miscontrue my "ippie" quote Phil. Not a thought of you, this time, when I let my hands run riot over the keyboard.

A good Arillas today, for all, and as Phil says, value for money on the exchange
11:43 pm here now and still a dry 24 deg.

I sit and watch the Olympic opening ceremony wondering......
......WOTSTHISALLABOUT??? and do not know whether to switch to the Sky demonstration channel, slide a coat hanger into the back of my t-shirt and fix myself to a coat hook, nail a foot to the floor and run round in circles or just go to bed. Maybe bed is the best option.

Twill be a better Arillas tomorrow.

Cheers

Neill, I have a problem with it being better tomorrow. For Jen and me that is impossible. Arillas Today delivered an absolutely perfect afternoon with long lost friends just chilling at Sharon's pool bar and another meal to die for at Graziella. An invitation to visit wonderful folk we met here last October rounded off another perfect Arillas Today.

Neill mate, it won't be any better tomorrow. It just can't be any better than this.

Hi Neil, I always enjoy my visits to Arillas.

Despite me spending many weeks in Arillas we've never met, though I feel I know you through your postings on the forum and many people speak fondly of you. Maybe one day.

As to "wots worse than a hippie in Arillas?" I can think of lots of answers, though none of them suitable for posting on here.

Eggy

Dai
None suitable for the forum but we can swap answers when we do meet up.

Meanwhile..........
Yet another fine Arillas today and it continues to spoil Phil n Jen and many others who, probably, keep pinching themselves, thinking they must be dreaming. Showing 32 deg on the "Wegg Monitor" at 5:30 pm and a very dry but tad breezy day. Mild breeze though. Wind never bothers anyone.
(Unless you're in Church! - Just sing the Hymm louder, my mother used to say)

Sue Simcox n Roger n family go home on Monday. They have had a good time and Sue remembers the Rainbow in 1993, Perdy damm good that!

Sunday tomorrow, and I think that the 2nd day to the Arillas weekend will be busier than today. Must be there at 8am to find a parking place!

Cheers

Paul n Gina

Treat Arillas as a very good wine.

Sometimes you let it rest for another 12 months and although you miss uncorking that bottle just think how much better it tastes in 2013.
