Even more fantastic photos - thank you Sara!
It's so difficult knowing we have to wait a few more weeks before we go back home to Arillas! But I know it will be well worth the wait...

They are absolutely gorgeous. And in spite of my reputation, I get enormous pleasure from seeing these flora in Arillas. I will never be as informed as our Dennis, but love reading all of his posts and learning about it all. When I am there, I often stop and stare. Jen sometimes gets impatient with me staring at it all. But I can't blame her - she finds standing for any length of time a real trial.

Thanks for the photos Sara.

Well done Sara !!

I like the way you have managed to get the flowers in focus and made the backgrounds 'fuzzy'.  I always have problems doing that as my digi camera lenses  tend to give a deep focus range.
The 1st photo is a type of Cistus or 'rock-rose'  probably the Sage-leaved Cistus.
Then comes a lovely orchid which I think is a 'Pyramidal Orchid' (sometimes more wedge-shaped).
The 3rd is a favourite of mine the Field Gladioli.  The full plant is tall and graceful. A local lady told me they call it 'Maios'  as it blooms in May and used to have some 'courting' associations , so I call it Maios too. We were too late for them last year.
The last one is an allium  called Rosy Garlic .

Any more of those yellow Bermuda Buttercups around ?

A quick update on Arillas today as we're off out with Gary n Sara n Paul n Claire to the Owl for some good food and good company.

Beach looking good and much "spring cleaning" going on all around.
(Sara's recent pics tell it all very well! )
.

.

.
Still about a 20 deg mark at 7:15 ish. All in all , a very good day.
.
And...................................
Just to prove Homer is still not afraid of  moving vehicles, after losing one of his 9 lives last year. ( But we did re-build him!! )

.
And................. Proof here that they are now tolerating each other very well.

.
Talk about "Jack in a Box" - This is "Cat in a Box".
Cheers All

Aah, thats my little bit of heavenly private beach that I claim as mine each year! :-) Thanks Eggy xx

Magnificent post Eggy. Can't work out which pic I prefer. The beach or the cat. In the end probably Homer the cat, the "we have the technology" cat. So looking forward to meeting him this summer.

Mind you, the beach looks great. But I guess the North end is still a struggle. I will try that struggle in July....

Cat-in-a-box? Look no further. Our Eileen will be with you tomorrow. Cat-out-of-the-box then! Goodonher!

See you soon

Thanks for the photo's Negg. Megg & Homer are adorable. Homer is such a great big softie - just like his owner, isn't he Negg?

Good night last night. Sorry we didn't make it to the darts today - will explain why tomorrow.

TONYNEW

Hi folks i was just rummaging through some old pics and came across a couple of postcards of Agios Georgis and Paleokastritsa so scanned them i reckon these were bought by my mother in law around 20 to 25 years ago on her visit to Corfu

Lovely scenes Tony. Paleokastritsa is just as beautiful as its reputation. I can say that with conviction after last summer, when John and Dot took us there. So eternally grateful that we have now seen it for real medears. Thanks for posting Tony
