Takis had a great sense of humour and was always ready to help. I remember one night when I had gone skinny dipping (much to Joyce's ongoing horror, although she has got to the pont now when these moments come upon me that she just holds out her hand with a resigned look. This is the sign for me to give her my watch and any other items of jewellery before any damage is done....another story....)....

On this occasion, after the event, we had gone to Ammos for a drink and she was handing my precious necklace to me and I accidentally dropped it down the decking. So I was on my hands and knees trying to locate it....and Takis came along.  He immediately got involved and we were both on the decking on hands and knees. Couldn't see much so he went off for a torch....and we could then see it but couldn't quite reach it. So he disappeared again and soon returned with a coat hanger....more hands and knees with me aiming the torch and Takis wiggling the coat hanger. Everyone by now wondering what on earth we were doing....

I am pleased to report that eventually Takis managed to hook it on to his hanger....and all was well. I am still grateful to him as the necklace has great sentimental value to me. So...thank you again Taki - I still wear it nearly every day.

Nice story Sandy and apologies for missing your recent post. As you now know it was the father of Leonidas. The funeral was yesterday and, I would imagine, was attended by many, many friends and family.

A very quiet Arillas today and, although the temp hovered around the 12 deg mark, not a lot of sun and quite a dull day. But, just listening to the sound of the sea perks you up no end.

I seem to remember our Marika took a pic, similar to this, many months ago now.

Not a patch on hers obviously but I am happy to still be an apprentice to the master.

i took a little "volta",stroll on the beach and didn't see another soul.

The groundworks at Hotel Akti currently looks like a mudpit as we had 5.5mm of rain overnight to add to the wet already in the ground. But no worries as they will have that pool all ready for May.

Not long now folks to the start of a new season. - EXCITED OR WHAT ! ?

News flash!!

Eggy  was driving towards Kavadades from the main road to Arillas.!
I was very lucky to have my camera in hand and didn't miss the shot.
It is not clear but It definitely looks like Mr Eggy going back from his "volta" on the beach. driving 100 km/hour

Ummmmm!

I haven't got an Arillas Today but does a visit to Sidari count?

There was a "table top" sale today, at that place called "Baze", where I snuck in an English breakfast a week ago. Loads fings n sale from books and DVD's to plants and home made cornish pasties and cheese n onion pasties. I bought 3 dvds and good picture quality they were soon. Not saying which ones as I don't think one is has got to the UK ciinemas yet.

Add that to a bit of gardening and making a seed tray and there we are!

But.... Arillas is due a visit tomorrow to see what's happening at Mirage and Akti plus anything that "takes me fancy"

Cheers

Yes Eggy, there IS an Arillas today, but Sidari Today is just as valid. The table sale reminded you of Somerset I think - books and home-made pasties etc. Nothing wrong there.

Jen and me did a typical Sunday today, except it's Saturday. Up late. Jen does Sodoku on the net while Phil has long slow bath. Cookery programmes on telly. Up the pub and do our crossword. Back to big bowl of yesterday's beef stew and dumplings (cinnamon Greek flavoured of course....) and now me on forum, Jen watching Morse. Ain't Arillas, but might be a near miss.

Only problem is we are missing Gianis, Litsa, Sprios, Filipos, Angela, Eggy, Marika, Dimitris ..........

The dots don't even begin to comlete the list.

with best wishes
