Well ! -,You can very easily fall into the laid back way of things here.
Last night about 8.30 I came round the bend, at Kavadaddes, and further on down there were 2 Police cars plus a couple of stopped cars. Hmmmm! Quickly braking, outside the local Kafenio I managed to have a quick chat with the owner, who was outside, whilst conveniently and hopefully unobserved, slipped the 'ole seat belt on.
They never stopped me so I don't know what all the "HooHah" was about.
Went to Corfu Town this morning and saw double the amount of Police cars that you usually see. Yes - I saw 2 police cars. I lost count of the number of bike drivers without crash helmets and on the way back, through Skripero, 6 cars in front of me and the car in front went through the red lights!! Solid red lights, none of yer 'ole amber here.
Two even hooted because we had stopped. You think you've seen everything until you're at red traffice lights watching cars overtake you. I think it will take some time for the Greeks to observe all the new laws. I also think that when they do it will be their idea, the drivers, and nobody elses. They will all want to drive better and be the "bestest" & most polite driver in Corfu.
It will be a case of "After You" - no!!- "After You"
( Anyone seen a flying pig??? )
Noufri @ Brouklis is currenly the safest & best driver in Corfu - So he tells me.
and... Dimitris' tyres never wear out as most of the time they're not touching the ground. ( Does that comment mean we've lost table 2 tonight?? )
Cheers
