Hi Everyone,

Returned last Monday from another fantastic time in Arillas. Stayed at Bardis sun apartments which where excellent, you could not get better hosts than the Bardis family. Spiros, Poppy, Bobby and George are so friendly and make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive and throughout your stay. We usually go in July/August but found May to be a lovely change, it was still very warm during the day but nice and cool in the evenings. Never seen fire flies before in Arillas.
Walked to Afionas on a couple of occasions and dined at the Dionysos and the Panorama tavernas, both are excellent with amazing sea views, make sure you have a camera.
We have eaten at most of the places in Arillas before but had not tried the captains, would recommend as the food is wonderful and not expensive.
If anyone is considering a walk to Aviolotes don,t do it, the walk is very long and when you get there you will be dissapointed.
All in all another fantastic time in a gem of a resort.
Thank you to all the locals for everything. Can,t wait to return.

Hi we have walked through Avioltes before on the way to Sidari.  We bought a bottle of pop from the little shop but didn't stay.  As you say you would be disappointed if that was where you were heading for although the scenery is beautiful.  It took us if I remember rightly about 1hr 40min to get to Sidari, Mick wanted to walk back but I persuaded him to get a taxi.

Hi Jill,

Congratulations on walking to Sidari, that can't have been easy.

How long would it have taken to get to Sidari from Aviolotes ?

God My Mum loves going on long walks on holiday but i hate it. We went to sidari though once and walked around forr ages we went with some friends and went for a meal.

There was one problem with the waiters spilling evrything on my mum when we were having our meal but the food was nice hehe. I will mention to my Mum about trying a walk like that she will enjoy it but maybe me and my dad can quadbike it up there instead hehe.

WE had a lovely meal at Doinnysos in Afionas last year, but would you believe it was the one cloudy night of our hol!!!! Think we may have to return for a clear view.

Congratulations on managing to walk to Sidari.

I find it bad enough on the back of a bike!  Last time we went on to Kassiopi which is the distance to Sidari doubled!  Not to bad as we stopped in Sidari for refreshments but on the way back we didnt stop.  My legs were like jelly and i had a numb bum by the time we got back to Arillas.

We first did the walk one September, when pour Daughter came over with us the following May we persuaded her to try it.  It was like when you are a child on a long car journey I seemed to keep saying to her just around the corner every time she asked how much further it was.  That was the year she stayed for the full season but she never tried the walk again.  Our Greek friends think we are mad but it's a great way to see the scenery.

I can't remeber how long it took us from Avioltes to Sidari will ask Mick and get back to you on that one.

Surely you don't mean you cycled to Kassiopi ?!?!? !!

Shuey

No i meant i was on the back of a twist and go moped, a push bike no- i think it would have killed me, i am so unfit!

Lozicle

hahaha I was going to say ! We went in the car and it was a long way, don't think I could have managed it on the back of a moped. - and DEFINITELY not on a bicycle !
I'd never attempt the walk to Sidari either - but then again I have no desire to go there, too much like Blackpool for me. :)

Shuey

We've done it by car too.  Sidari is not for me now.  Stayed in Sidari several years ago when it was a lot quieter.  As you say lozicle its like Blackpool.  Gt Yarmouth too - that only 20 miles away from me.  Cant remember the last time we went their either!
