When we walked over we spotted the track along the side of a Taverna on the right as you are heading inland from the beach in San Stephanos and asked the bloke working there if it was a path over to Arillas, he said that we could get over the hill that way so we walked up. We eventually came to a clearing at the end of the track about 100 yards from the top of the hill that looks as thought someone is about to build a house up there. It was a dead end and surrounded by the local Gorse type bushes which resemble growing barbed wire! I wasn't prepared to fight my way through them in shorts and sandals! We ended up climbing the hill 3 times for a return journey, nice views though!

Beware the short cuts,

Hear, Hear!!!  You start down what looks like a proper road and then it ends up in a track and goes nowhere, then you have to retrace your steps.. Not so good when its so hot and you dying to get back into the pool.

We took the walk at the back of the Galini towards the church, the road was being done up and it had these small white stones which were all wet so we gingerly tried not to walk in them, not realising that a huge steam roller was making its way down the hill.  We had walked on a "new road" and hoped that we wouldnt be up to our neck in concrete!  We didnt end up walking to San Stef that way along the main road but just made our way back down to Arillas again.  There is a road there on the left before the Arillas turn off....be warned it doesnt go anywhere as we found out.
If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.
