Taverna Bookings

Hi all hope everyone is doing ok? I have seen Brouklis have put a link on Facebook saying they are now open and you can go on there to place bookings etc and my question is should I be booking Tavernas well in advance or will I be ok when I am there to either walk in or maybe book a day in advance so to speak. We arrive July 27th for 2 weeks so guessing it will be busy, it's been many years since I was last here and that was in a September time.

We always book on the day for the evening and never had a problem and thats in August. Book the day before , if it puts your mind at ease, but you'll be fine mate 👍

last September they were jam packed solid everytime we passed, which was every other night.

I was told they even had a QR code for advance bookings displayed outside the taverna.

you should be ok as Truth as said book 0n day the evening you are going out.
Restaurants  do not like to turn customers away they will and try to get you in we have had no problems

I always book in Brouklis just for the peace of mind. If you really wish to eat somewhere on a particular table it is better to book even if it in not busy

We always book at least on the day. Gratselas-book a few days in advance if you want a table at the front. Best I think with Brouklis to book a couple of days in advance.  If there are just 2 of you then not so difficult to get a table but usually there is a few of us wanting to eat together and wanting a specific table.

I think Brouklis you definitely need to book as it's rammed every night. We always book Gratsela the day before so we can secure a beachside table. If you aren't fussed about where you sit you will prob be ok to just walk in most places if only 2 of you. I would also book at Eftichia and Athina

Jo's not wrong. It pays to book just to get the table you want.
.... and it's good business for Restaurants/Tavernas to have those "Reserved" signs about.

It always suprises me that I can go into a popular taverna about 19.00/19.30 hrs and many tables are reserved.
Very shortly they are turning customers away and some reserved tables are still vacant.

We when  leave about  at 21.00 hrs ( ish) some reserved tables are still vacant. Why not say they have a table but must be vacated by a certain time?

I would be happy with that, if there is just the two of us. I would simply say if you can serve us  on time we would leave on time for the next customer.

This of course would depend on efficient service and adaquate staffing levels.

Bums on seats make profits.

If they got say, 3 extra tables a night and 50 euro spend each , thats 150 per night.
Muliply that by 7 nights and thats 1050 euro per week.
Multiply that by 4 weeks and thats 4200 euro a month.
Multiply that by 5 months and thats 21,000 euro per season

Not to be turned down I would'nt have thought

Sometimes the "Production Line Money" matters!!

Maybe without that little extra they may not be open to look after any customers!
