Coming to Arillas for the first time - will visit local tavernas but enjoy alfresco cooking, what are the supermarkets like or will I have to drive to Sidari?

Mick and Jill

Hi
there are supermarkets that stock everything you need but we tend to always eat out especially this time as prices have increased so much and it was cheaper this way.

Was gobsmacked when Mick ran out of his factor 50, paid £5 here, it cost 28Euro over there.

Thanks Jill was looking at food drinks etc as we are brining our two young grand children with us therefore easier to cook in situ and relax by the pool - staying @ Villa Helios

The villa is gorgeous cmerry51, as are its owners Frank and Mandy. Have never stayed there before you think this is a review, but I have read many really good ones. Very pretty outside.

You can buy many supplies in Kavaddades, not far from you either. Some of the owners of accommodation in Arillas buy some of their stuff there. San Stefanos has possibilities too. I would just explore and choose.

Arillas may be more geared up for tourists, but you can sometimes find litle gems there too. We look, comment about what we'd make back in UK, and then I'm afraid we always go and eat at one of the many amazing tavernas.

Have a great first time. I have a feeling it won't be the last.....

There are several local supermarkets in Arillas. The nearest to you is probably down the hill next door to the bakery (where you can buy bread, cakes and cheese pies all cooked on the premises) Walkable from Helios but a steep hill.
There is a bigger supermarket called Brettas on the Kavvadades/Corfu Town road and a fruit and veg shop on the opposite side just before.
There are two big supermarkets in Sidari, Markato(?) and Diellas opposite. They sell everything including fresh meat but we use the Butcher's Shop which is on the Kavvadades road going out of Sidari.

Hi

Could anyone tell me if Young George is still runing Helens on the sea front?

We will be there soon and can`t wait!!!

We always eat out, some great places to eat and sadly they all need the euros.

Helens has changed hands jojo. But the object of every-female- under-100's affection is running his dad's supermarket opposite Mathraki. The crepeprie is now a chargrill, but I guess that will fit in well. None of this is my personal experience, but I read everything I can find about Arillas. think I've got it right tho

Don't think you will see much of Georges Dad, Gianni is not too well at the moment.
