The schedule is out for 2011. £80 each way from Gatwick to Corfu.....

No....haven't really decided yet when to go. Also the luggage allowance is less. 15kg for £10 each way and then I think it was £5 for every extra kg. So I'm not sure whether to wait for EJ. Also it only goes once a week on a Monday whereas EJ is every day so more flexibility.

Had a good look for next summer, and concluded we'll do the same or better with EJ booked on the day of release like we did this year. Plus EJ are unlikely to become another XL etc. I for one think you're wise to wait and see Sandy.

Me have managed to squeeze another holiday in a before our children go back to school on 10th Sept. We just booked on Viking, departing Bristol 02:50 on the 30th August, the flight times are slightly 'unpleasant' so we will just have to spend the day we arrive (like all the days) lazing around!

Arillas here we come again!

Welcome Taffiboy to the place we disposessed Arilliacs spend our time when we aren't actually there. It can be a roller-coaster of a ride. But we seem to enjoy it.....

I don't understand. I've just read this on the Viking website:-

Kiss Flights update

While one of Viking's tour operating customers, Flight Options, (Kiss Flights) has unfortunately gone into administration, Viking is financially healthy and is set to continue its normal UK operations.  The company has already put into motion plans to downsize its fleet, immediately reducing the number of aircraft by three. Regrettably, this will result in some job losses, mainly in the UK.  It should be noted that the majority of Viking's operations are based in Central and Eastern Europe and in the Middle East.

For the financial year 2009, Viking Airlines reported a net profit of €3.8 million.  The company also reported an equity ratio of 40%.  Viking Airlines has no interest-bearing debt.

The company was formed in 2003 and is owned by European Aviation & Technical Services and Black Pearl Investments Ltd.

Customers can book seats on Viking Airlines through our website Flyviking.com

and we would like to re-emphasise our continued dedication and commitment to our customers.

If you have booked with Kiss Flights please see the CAA website at www.caa.co.uk  for the latest information on your flights.

Viking does indeed live on. I'd never heard of them before my recent incident booking with the now defunct Kiss. First Choice/Kiss and now skinnier Viking are I believe all linked.

Bit of financial find the lady I fancy.

There will be an account on a nice earner I expect.

Given the customer feedback and shakey start Viking have had I for one will be backing Easyjet in future.

Viking have had some disastrous problems in recent weeks including the Monday morning Corfu-Bristol return flight cancelled altogether, 15 hour delay on a Crete flight from Bristol, another flight moved from Bristol to Manchester with passengers being bussed to the latter at the last minute and this was before they withdrew three aircraft from their fleet this week.  Today's two hour delay on the Skiathos flight is small beer by their standards.

There are all sorts of Viking connections with Excel, including senior management and shareholders, and many of the sorts of problems you get when an airline appears to be running into trouble, like a desperate message of reassurance on their website.

Personally, I wouldn't touch Viking with a bargepole, certainly not for next year's flights, especially with the UK economy about to fall into hard times.  Even the major carriers are issuing profit warnings.

The 0830 flight from Manchester to Rhodes yesterday was cancelled.

Today's Skiathos - Bristol flight now five hours late.  Some very concerned people here in Corfu...

I had an e-mail from Viking stating our flight on 30 August at 02:50 from Bristol is now cancelled, we have had our money back and fortunatley managed to book another flight from Gatwick on 31st August, our holiday is just moved 1 day to the right and Anna's Appartments can still accommodate us.

So glad Taffiboy. Some have had disasters with it all.

Anna's is such a great place to be. Us naughty boys have missed her for yonks. Heart-attack hill (as others have christened it) has beaten us two years on the trot. Maybe we'll get a quad bike to get up there in October...
