Can any of you recommend a good boat trip for our hol this year? Now that the kids are older, I feel a little less nervous of them falling overboard! We have done the glass bottomed boat at Paleo but wanted to try another.

Hi jo,we did the paxos and anti paxos one.It was a great day out but it was an all day one so may be to long but well worth it.we also did the albania one which gives you an additional tour when you land.Hope this helps.x

I am looking at doing the East Coast cruise run through a travel company in Kassiopi.  There are some good reviews of it on the Agni forum.  I think it costs E15 per person.

The east coast is beautiful, but I don't fancy driving it in the heat of August and then having problems navigating the very narrow roads with lots of other cars.   The seemed a much better alternative.

Hi

We in the past have done the Parga Paxos & Paxos and Anti Paxos. These are great, but are very long days as you need to get coached to Corfu Town for about 9am to begin. Not so bad going, but coming back........

We have also done the beach BBQ trip. I know a lot of people think these are a bit 18/30, but check them out at the travel shop at Olga's or the one opposite the Coconut. The Thomas Cook one is always a good family day with games on the beach too.

Or as we do each year, hire a boat. From Arillas beach. A 10hp is 60 Euros for up to 4 people and if you are not mad about 30 Euros for fuel. They are so simple to use, anyone can operate one. Then you have 8 hours to putt putt between Sidari and Paleokastritsa, visiting coves and beaches only reached by the sea. Delightful.

Hope this helps.

Thanks all, I will pop into Olga's in Aug.  Gazcaz, where is your proper holiday report?! Did you enjoy Arillas this year and were you happy to be back at the Akti?

We caught the ferry, Pegasus from San Stef to Erikousa in June, that made a good day out too, Jo.  Beautiful beach there as well.

Yes. We booked a trip through Olga's to Paliokastritsa and really enjoyed it. it was loads cheaper than the Thompsons trip.

Holiday report to follow. We got back last monday and were back to work tuesday. Just not had a propper chance to do a report yet. The holiday was a dream. Everything was perfect. Loved the Akti, had no problems, money lasted, thought everything was as before or cheaper (2 Euros for a large Mythos in the Malibu all night) Stuffed with Gyros during day and did not have a bad meal at night. No flight delays there or back and my only groan is some of the young locals tearing up the main drag pulling wheelies on their motorbikes. One day someone will get hit by these idiots.

Full report very soon, but is a happy happy report

Are there any more local boat trips?  I have read of one from San Stef, but am not sure it is the San Stef next to Arillas.
