Pastichio in Arillas?

Hello all.

Does anyone know ANYWHERE in Arillas that will do Pastichio???

Last year I hunted and hunted and ended up having to go to Afionas to get one (3 chefs was it?). Its not a problem as Afionas is absolutey beautiful and the sunsets from up there take your breath away, but if I could get it easier, I will appreciate it a lot more.

For those of you know dont know this amazing dish, its a lot like lasagne, but nicer and comes as a square. Stumbled upon by mistake a good 4 years ago and make it a neccessity to have each year I go! Do not confuse with Pastisada!

Can't remember for sure but I have a feeling this was on the menu at the Captains Table last year.

No way!!! Im staying at Brouklis!!! Well thats me sorted, Im not leaving...!

It is like Moussaka - Perhaps a little less creamy, more meaty. I beleive its Lamb.

From what I remember its a speciality of North-western Corfu... I could be wrong. A trip to Corfu without trying it is incomplete! Would love to hear what you guys think of it too

Jo, its made with macaroni, and minced lamb (i think) and a lovely creamy cheese sauce, I'd seen it made on that greek cookery programme and didnt see it on any menus in Arillas, then we went to Brouklis and it was on the specials, its really good.

Samwell, you have chosen the perfect place to stay, have a great holiday.

Thanks Sharon! Im sure I will... despite going alone this year, I somehow think it might manage to top the other times.

Ill take a gorgeous photo of any pastichio I have and post it up here once I get back... just a shame I cant bring the taste back with me for you all to try!

Im wondering if Thomas Cook and Dimitris will let me come out any sooner!!! haha

Cant wait to have that... Almost as much as not being able to come out to Arillas anyway!!!

Im very jelous, my work collegue has just said goodbye to me, hes flying to Corfu tomorrow morning to stay in Sidari...!

I am green with envy too, we have friends who are in Roda this week and our other friends flew out this a.m. to Corfu staying in St. George South.... i would have paid their extra baggage allowance to smuggle me in!
