Can anybody tell me where these are? we've been to arilas 6 or 7 times but usually stay with tria adelphia or makris. I've looked on the Thompson website, but they seem to show it somewhere behind portofino, I then noticed they also show bardis to be in the same spot.
We'll be driving from the airport as usual so it'll be nice to know we're pulling up at the right place when we get there.

Hi NicandJohn

When you get to Arillas front then take a right and go as far as you can. Here you will find Kaloudis. I'm sure you will get good reviews of these appts and they are, a very good location. There's a few posts on them. Try "Kaloudis" on the search.

Cheers

Thanks very much to both of you. It looks as though I head toward the nudist beach then turn right just as the road ahead becomes the dirt track to san stefanos. This looks a very good location for us. Usually we travel with Manos, but this year we are travelling with thompson as they now fly from our local airport, which is just a 5 minute taxi ride away.
We've just bought the book by Lance chilten to do some local walks, and will do a little more local exploring on foot this year. I've been on a fitness drive for a while now, so we'll also have a jog around the village most mornings I should think.

Hi NicandJohn.

You will luv the Kaloudis. We have been 4 times , back for 5 and 6 this year.

I dont like the idea of the jogging you have lined up though. A bit to much like hard work in such a peaceful resort. I luv the walks though..

When are you going??

We're going on 30/05/08 for two weeks. It's our 10th wedding anniversary and we spent our honeymoon there (at Makris) back in '98. I joined a gym in september having put on a lot of weight since getting married, so now having lost most of it (about 40kg) I'm looking forward to getting some sun on my back. The jog shouldn't be a problem, cos I'll be missing my local Gym. Come to think of it I could look around for a gym in/near arilas???  I do remember seeing one at Kassiopi a few years ago.

Hi
Location of the apartments is brilliant. Last year my husband used to jog over to san stefanos and back to keep fit. He also went to Afionas for a change of scenery. We also brought the walk book and have found it interesting. We return in July for our 4th visit can't wait.

Hi NicandJohn. We stayed at Kaloudis last week of season last year, but always call in for a Mythos or three when we come off the beach. It has a brilliant sea front location, and as you identified - the road ends and you can either go down the steps onto the beach or follow the walk to San Stef, or turn right up into the Kaloudis.

Lovely people (but they all are, everywhere you go in Arillas) and spotless accommodation, pool, and garden.

In spite of my reputation, I am very fit for someone my age. But my recipe is very different to yours! I smoke, drink beer in tavernas, eat gorgeous food (not too much though ha ha) and drink and dance the night away. My blood pressure is that of a sixteen year old (to quote my doctor) and I do one of the most stressful jobs there is -I am a teacher. I intend to live forever - and if Jen and me pull off the move to Arillas, we probably will....

best wishes
Phil

I am sure you will love the Kaloudis... it is in an ideal spot for you to join the cliff walk for a jog uphill!  Rather you than me though.  I have lost a lot of weight too but really dont fancy the jogging bit, I used to but my knee joints wont let me now.   I prefer to lay on my sunbed with my book, occasional splash in the sea/pool (splash being the most important word), alternate days we go for long walks and save my energy for the occasional spot of dancing in the evening.  My exercise routine is 3 - 4 hrs of Ceroc once a week and it takes me 6 days to get over it ready for the next time.

Well done for losing the weight, I know how hard it is and you have to be committed to do it.   So, if we see a flash running past in Arillas we shall know its you, you dont see many joggers in Arillas, they are probably up and running long before anyone else is up and we dont see them.
If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.

If I'm honest it's my wife who loves to run, I just do it  because I need to! My wife is quick and light on her feet whaeras I tend to really pound the path, and people hear me coming long before I get there. I'm more into the weight training in the gym, as it suits my body shape (short and wide) and enables me to burn plenty of calories- I haven't needed to cut calories below 3000 per day yet!
I've never been too keen on spending time around the pool, I love the beach. I also like the history of the place, the fortresses and religious sites etc + Retsina!
