Yeh, I tried the airline first but got no response then tried the ECC then the CAA who although investigated could not force Air Malta to respond.  It was only when I contacted the Athens aviation office that I got any joy.

Hi just had a response from Thomas cook regarding a flight delay. They say as it was a technical problem then the claim isn't valid. Can anyone else who has claimed please tell me what their delays were due to. Thanks

In one of your replies on this topic you said you
Quoted the law?  Can I ask what this was please?
Thanks

I think its the "stock" reply to be honest, from the flight companies. Carry on with it

Ness, I was getting fobbed off in terms of the timescale but on Martins Money website there was a really good line to use. Just go on there and type in flight compensation and all the info comes up. My dad had a similar reaponse to yours from Monarch but still got paid out after writing to the Greek address (assuming your delay happened over there)

We had delays on both sides of our journey. 5 hours going and 8 coming back. Went on site and found an on line form to fill in to take it further. I am going to do that. They have fobbed me off but now I am like a dog with a bone!! Lol I will keep going and it's down to all of you on here encouraging me to keep trying. Fingers crossed and Thanks for your reply. Will let you know how I get on x

Me again

Just got a e mail from Thomas cook saying they are sending me a voucher for £1356.00  I have said Thanks but do not want a voucher I want the cash. Will see what happens. I have no plans at all to travel with them again after last time so a voucher is no good to me.  See what happens eh?  X

Hi Bella,
I hope you're well?
Claiming yes , but don't hold out much hope due to how long ago it was and the fact it's Thomsons, who seem the most notoriously hard to claim from !
Nothing ventured , nothing gained though. . . . . . .

Mine goes back to 2008  so you never know.

Tempting fate for my hard earned visit home in April.... I hope everyone gets compensation for their suffering. Jen and I have been so lucky with this on our visits to Arillas. Never been delayed enough to notice.

Our only problem was landing in dangerous crosswinds in October 2012. (Sadly we didn't go in 2013 but are making up for it in a few weeks time.) I gained ten years in age landing that day and even more white hairs. Nic White had a similar experience from Manchester on the flight which "landed" before us.

Sandy and Michelle were delayed, waiting to get on the same plane out that we had come in on. We did the Prisoner Cell Block H thing through the window of Corfu Airport......

The Mythos has never tasted so good as it did when we actually arrived in one piece.

Cheers Bella :-)
And thanks Ness , gives me a bit of hope as our claim is from 2008 on the return flight from Lesvos,  but like I say Thomsons just seem the hardest of all to get anything out of.
