I have looked on site and think I have found flight numbers. On that holiday we were 5 hours going out and about 8 hours coming back. I have no paper work so what can I do next please? X

Hi Jo,

Thanks for the info, I will let you know how we get on.

Thanks sue.

Bella

Hi,

If you have no paperwork you will firstly need to write to the airline and ask them to confirm from their records that you did actually board the flight giving as much detail as poss
dates, flight number, airports in and out, all names and dates of birth, addresses etc on flight.

Also say that if they cannot furnish you with the information you need that they let you know where to write to their Data Controller to gain all data they hold on you under the Data Protection Act - this in my experience usually works but if you do have to have to request under the Act - here's how to go about it

If you hit a brick wall let me know - been to court endless times - never lost one yet

Thanks Bella . Even though it was back in 2008 will I still be able to try and claim?  X

Bella

Hi,

yes - you can claim for any delay in past six years.

Good luck xx

We had a long delay coming back from Lesvos about 5 years ago with XL, I might try looking into this as there were 6 adults and 1 child at the time so could well be worth our while.....

Lol Truth - no thinking involved - just a stamp and envelope to post your claim xx

Just looked at some feedback on that Martin Lewis Forum and its looking like Thomson are just about the worst to try and get compensation off ! They appear to always use the "you need to claim within two years" line and it looks like it usually ends up going to court ! May be too much hard work , any thoughts ?

Hey!

never be or feel intimidated by a well known/large Company - you have rights and the law is on your side. Yes they will do or say all they can to not pay out - take no notice and don't be put off !

I have taken on Monarch Airlines, Easyjet, Olympic Holidays, Marks and Spencer,Tesco, B & Q, Blacks Kitchens, an unfair dismissal claim by an employer to name but a few and won every one - do your homework - know your rights and don't back down.

Pm me - more than happy to help

Hey!

Feel I should add as this bit puts most people off!

Going to Court is nothing like you expect - it's not like you see on TV!
Been maybe 6 times. It's not the Old Bailey but a small room like a GP's surgery room with you, a representative from whomever you are taking on and a Judge - nope he isn't wearing the cloaks and wig - that's for Crown Court only just a regular guy in a suite.

He says what your complaint is and what the other side has said. He asks you what is needed to resolve your complaint and then decides if it is reasonable - end  of.

Nothing to be scared of xx

Truth, if the delay happened in this country you should have no problem if you quote the ruling. Mine went back to 2008. Because it happened on the Corfu side, I wrote to the Athens address (all the different addresses are on martins money for whichever country your delay happened) and they at first tried to fob me off saying couldn't go back more than 2 years. I then quoted the law and within a week 2000 euro was in my account! I so nearly thought ah well that's that!!!

Truth

I may aswell go for it then. Happened in Lesvos. I take it i start with Thomsons? I have the flight number now. 5 hour delay
